If you can stay away from the larger islands, the Bahamas can be civilized and beautiful. The Park Hyatt on St Kitts is beautiful. Have stayed there multiple times with clients and gone back on my own. Ocean Club Four Seasons in Nassau is the only hotel worth booking on that horrible island.
