  1. If you're a fan of Christopher Guest comedies (Waiting For Guffman, Best in Show, This Is Spinal Tap, etc), this is a show with a few of his alum. It's very dry comedy and an ensemble who all pull their weight. Really, really funny writing. Catch up on seasons 1-3: https://www.netflix.com/title/80036165 New season is going on now. PopTV: https://www.poptv.com/schittscreek
  2. Yep. I'm fine with these, most of which already exist as hard rules with the airlines. GAs and FAs just need to ensure people follow them. I'd say I expect people to be reasonable, but that's usually not the case the moment they step into an airport. Service dogs- true service dogs- are well-trained. They are calm. They don't bark for no reason and are often able to sit still for long spans of time. ESAs don't usually have that training. To me, that's a huge issue and one I hope they put some regulations on.
  3. It's now into its third season and the writing keeps getting stronger. Catch up on the first two seasons through Netflix. Very, very sharp (and funny). http://www.cc.com/shows/another-period
  4. Agreed that it's a funny couple of hours. The cast is superb. It was very much a Noises Off ... on steroids.
  5. You're overthinking this. She tried to game the system and she lost. Now, it's putting a gigantic spotlight on people who abuse this on a regular basis, hopefully causing some change in policy and making it near-impossible for very large dogs and odd animals to be carried onto a small flying tube in the future.
  6. Brightman: Holy fuck has she been replaced with so many other more capable singers and actresses. As the original NYT review stated, 'she still simulates fear and affection alike by screwing her face into bug-eyed, chipmunk-cheeked poses more appropriate to the Lon Chaney film version.' ... Thank you Frank Rich
  7. Agree totally. It's the lyrics to his songs that have always killed them. However, no one writes a more guilty-pleasure key change- or, multiple key changes, as it were- than Wildhorn As for Eder, she sings his songs so well, that I usually forget how god-awful the lyrics are. For a second, I'm able to put aside the hypercritical part of my theatrical brain and just focus on the sound she makes. It's intoxicating.
  8. So tired of this shit. A big crackdown by all major airlines is coming.
  9. Ultimately, Atlantis is going into PR overdrive in an attempt to make this go away. Drugs are a problem on these boats: I've seen it first-hand, many times. While they can't eliminate the issue, they can do more to ensure a better environment. Toxicology will figure out this particular guy's issue, but I hope Rich Campbell (CEO of both major gay cruise lines) takes this as an opportunity to reflect on existing protocol and if things need to be changed. From what I've seen, my definition of zero tolerance is very different than theirs. A lot is swept under the rug.
  10. It actually hasn't been called @TheMansion for awhile, now taking on simply his name, as all of his other flagships It's a fine restaurant, but I don't think it's 3-star worthy. It works (too) hard to keep its mystique.
  11. Well, it's so much easier to come here and attempt to stir a pot than just send him a quick and efficient email
  12. Crazy, but true. The original alfredo had no heavy cream in it and the base of it was fresh parm and a ton of butter. http://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/alfredos-of-romes-original-fettuccine-alfredo-187391 http://memoriediangelina.com/2013/05/19/fettuccine-alfredo/
  13. And let's not let this orgy of french cuisine conversation go further without mentioning Boeuf Bourguignon. One of my all-time favorites.
  14. I do understand. L'Atelier is a whole other separate eatery than his flagships. The Vegas location of L'Atelier is beautiful. I'm just not a fan of how the dining room packs in guests. It's tight quarters.
  15. I believe there are many here who appreciate both. And just because I have a soft spot for the classics doesn't make me old: It makes me appreciative and diverse Joel Robuchon's dining rooms are fine and dandy, but I don't have the patience for a 15-course tasting. I've dined at his namesakes in France, Hong Kong and his US flagship in Vegas. Much of the food comes across as fussy for the sake of being fussy and not particularly flavorful. It's one of the few times I've been disappointed with a 3-star Michelin rating. Give me La Tour d'Argent any day. I dream about their pressed duck
  16. Nope. Totally different setlist. She did keep Someone Like You, Charade and Vienna in. She also added a couple of Judy Garland medleys, Don't Cry For Me Argentina, What Kind of Fool Am I, Looking Through The Eyes of Love and others. Eder has three more short residencies at 54 Below this year. I've already got my tickets for her May visit
  17. I have friends in this tour. I'll let them know how much you enjoyed it PS: Nice seeing you post here from BWW. Keep up the good work.
  18. I just wish Cruz was doing the correct accent. Clearly, she was coached on the tone... And then forgot she was an Italian.
  19. Yes, as in every place has now felt the need to update to a point of food absurdity: Not everything needs to be so trendy. Simple French cooking never goes out of style, as evidenced by the multitude of great little bistros around Manhattan that have survived well for many years. Two of my very favorites are Le Veau D’or on E 6oth and La Boite en Bois on 68th.
  20. Love classic French. Getting tougher to find these days.
  21. My advice: Stay home and work on the treatment
  22. Tammy Blanchard is a powerhouse. Good to see her in this. Otherwise, I'm not all that jazzed about Washington outside of film. His stage appearances have been pretty uninspired in my experiences, but there's no doubt that Rudin will have total sell-outs with this starry casting. Iceman is basically now the Gypsy of plays: Revived every couple years with a new 'name' inserted into the now-famous 45 minute monologue. FWIW, Kevin Spacey gave the most brilliant performance in this show out of any other actor I've seen tackle it. He was electric.
  23. In a looks-based business, if you cause yourself acne from steroids, you better also be putting aside money for a good dermatologist.
