This reminds me of a very hot guy I'd see at the gym; he bartended at a gay bar but pretty sure he was straight. One day in the locker room he headed for the hot tub (in the co-ed area) just in his towel. his friend had to remind him: "Dale, you're naked".

I believe it's meant to be a way to verify that the pictures are really of the escort. Three fingers raised is unusual enough that you're unlikely to find a pic of that if you're using stolen pics.

Personally, I sympathize a bit more with the original poster. I had a similar reaction - a porn star I'd lusted after for years put up an ad, was coming to my area, but his ad and pictures talked a lot about fisting. I'd wonder if this person would be really into what I enjoyed, which is much milder than fisting. As someone said above, a professional escort would be able to adapt; but they're not all professionals out there.

That's a skill. Being able to do something vs. being able to teach it is very different.

I paid my guy what I would have paid for all the haircuts I missed. He gave me free haircuts when I was laid off for six months in 2009, so I could look not-crazy for interviews. It felt good to finally be able to return the kindness.

Season 3 of Dark starts tomorrow. I rewatched the last episode just to make sure I'm caught up.

One note (and I don't know if this is my own particular quirk), but if someone reaches out to me after I've viewed their ad, we have a polite exchange, and then later on if I view their ad again and they reach out to me *with the exact same message they did the first time* - to me, that's offputting. I feel like I'm getting junk mail. If you're going to respond to a view, keep track of who you've responded to.
