  1. All the time. I like how Lex Luthor put it, in the 1978 Superman, about his assistance Otis: "It's amazing that brain generates enough electricity to make those legs move."
  2. True. Blazing Saddles, unless it's shown on a premium channel, is hopelessly bleeped out.
  3. Not so much lambasted, but there are many different meanings of normal, and the connotations of abnormal the opposite of normal color the conversation. The majority of people are right handed. That doesn't mean left-handed is abnormal.
  4. I've never heard that term. I used to call my first drafts of papers in school something like that, where I'd just start writing and dump out everything I could think of about the topic, and then mercilessly edit, cut, and rearrange until it made sense. Is my first draft what you mean by a thought dump?
  5. A couple of friends are from Germany, they've been here for about five years. They've mentioned occasionally that Germans are much more relaxed about nudity. Their 18-month daughter just got past her "I don't want to wear pants!" phase. On a completely unrelated tangent, trying to convince an 18-month-old girl to go down the playground slide and have her emphatically reply "Nein!" makes me laugh.
  6. Going by the next-to-last picture, if the model with the pressure points(?) listed shows where he'll massage, I wouldn't expect a happy ending :-P
  7. An online video told the story of a man and woman who fell in love with each other after meeting at the dog park. The comments were hilarious - mostly along the lines of "so if I am impossibly good looking and have a dog, I might find true love too?"
  8. Just once, after a weekend workshop with Body Electric, their introductory one where they discouraged coming. On the drive back I was so horned up I had to jerk off. Good thing I had my towel with me.
  9. Back when I was a paper delivery boy and we had a "delivery boy meeting" at McDonalds, all pre-teen boys, the guy in charge of the delivery guys gave us each a dollar and said "The commercial says you can eat a full meal at McDonalds, so here you go". I think I managed. This would have been early 70's. These days, I load up on cheap frozen dinners for lunch at the office, if they're over $3 I sneer at them. Unfortunately, I tend to order out for dinner at home a lot more than I should.
  10. Funny, when I saw this title, even before reading, my response would be "Yes, so I can feel like an astronaut" :-D
  11. I found a quote once. "Don't write so you can be understood. Write so you can't be misunderstood". I try to live by that. I remember an article by Larry Niven, a science fiction author, about a group of space enthusiasts getting together to write a proposal about space exploration. Niven, a professional writer, was going nuts trying to get the other enthusiasts to write intelligibly. I remember one of his points in particular - "using acronyms makes things harder to understand, not easier".
  12. I have brought women friends (no quotes, they were definitely real women) to Gold Coast in Detroit because they were interested in seeing it. They had fun, refrained from screeching, a couple dancers sat at our table for a while chatting and all had a good time. I share your dislike of bachelorette parties and the like showing up, that seems to bring out the worst behavior, but they're not all like that.
  13. I watched it last night and loved it as well. Realizing it was not all that crucial to the story, I was curious about what happened to Michael, the grandfather, and to Adam's father (Michaels' son, who we only saw as a child). They made a brief reference to Michael dying young but that was about it, and it certainly seemed that Flora and Adam were the sole surviving members of the family. And Oliver Jackson-Cohen; damn, very easy to watch (not to mention Julian Morris). I was convinced that Oliver Jackson-Cohen was another Oliver, Oliver Stark, who was in "Into the Badlands". Both have amazing chests :-)
  14. I had (still do) a huge crush on the top guy in this picture - Vladimir Gott, he filmed for William Higgins in the early 2000s, I think.
  15. GHB - isn't that roofies? The date-rape drug?
  16. Funny, I made a three-stop shopping trip last week and brought my dog along/inside. Results were unexpected. The cupcake shop welcomed her with open arms & offered her a free dog-cupcake, the smoke shop was indifferent, and at the local library, a woman hustled up immediately and said that unless she was a service dog I had to take her outside.
  17. My last roommate was quite a bit younger than me. Every once in a while I had to remind myself that in his timeline, Star Wars was to him (age-wise) what movies that came out in the middle of WWII were for me. Best Picture in 1941, I couldn't tell you a thing about what that movie's about. Charlie Chaplin won best actor that year. We took my mother to see "De-Lovely" and after she mentioned "Begin the Beguine" had been a favorite song of hers when she was younger. That movie was the first time I'd heard it.
  18. Porn star Marco Rossi made a guest appearance at a new strip club in Detroit (the club didn't last long). I didn't witness this, but heard that some guy tipped Marco during his show, and he said "that better be at least a $5". Management pulled him from the stage.
  19. I remember a story not too long ago about someone who'd given someone else a token to play in a slot, it won big, and the question of who owned the jackpot. The casino said the person who pulled the lever was the winner, regardless of where they got the token. I think it went to court and they upheld the casino's position.
  20. I did that on a trip to San Francisco years ago, my flight was nearly pre-dawn, so I checked out of my hotel, midday, did some sightseeing, then went to the bathhouse in San Jose about 10:00PM and hung out there until it was time (3:00AM or so) to head to the airport.
  21. With Detroit on the US/Canada border, it's not unusual to see Canadian change here. Some stores refuse them, some don't care and accept them as US$0.25. I still remember the excitement in the office when someone discovered the vending machine in the lobby was accepting Canadian quarters. :-)
  22. Cody Cummings and our own Tristan Baldwin.
  23. Sounds like typical Bel Ami dialogue
  24. Anybody know what this is from? Somehow, it's speaking to me. :-) Google image search is just suggesting "Barechested"
  25. Since I started using a DVR I rarely watch things as they are aired, and always fast-forward through the commercials. I will intentionally find a chore or something else to do for 10 minutes (unload the dishwasher?) so I can start late & catch up by the end of the show.
