Being a shy kid, I remember the first day of high school gym class, the first time we changed for gym and showered after (elementary school, we wore our regular school clothes to gym). The teacher told us what clothes we'd need, including a jock, and the embarrassment of asking my mother to buy a jockstrap. I must've been 12 or so.
