You're right the symbol was not accidental and it is clearly posed with the intent to flash a sign, the misunderstanding is that I thought it meant "gotcha" and not what its new adopted meaning stands for as defined by the ADL. If you're wondering why I've removed that photo it's probably because a thread was established debating whether I was racist or not and that's definitely not my intent with posting photos on my AD not the conclusions I want people to come to. I’ll tell you why - because I contacted him and asked it that was his intent.  He was shocked and rightfully so.
as the ADL said “context is key”.  Your unilateral conclusion of intent is inconsistent with context.  If you were right, he wouldn’t care about removing it.  But he did.  QUICKLY  If he was what you imply, he’d want to continue sending a strong message.
Believe what you want but don’t disparage a guy based on your unilateral conclusion 
I’m pasty white and I had NO IDEA about this symbol.  Non racists don’t waste time learning symbols of racism.  
 
He deserves the benefit of the doubt until you KNOW otherwise.  Until then, you are entitled to avoid him but not to disparage him.

For those wondering about the gesture, the straight fingers (not visible in this case) form a 'W' for w*h*i*t*e and the one finger and circular ("a-ok" symbol) thumb and forefinger form a 'P' for p*o*w*e*r. Just being extra careful here with the verbiage!!

I honestly thought it was a questionable assertion (though not impossible) finding myself standing this way naturally myself.  The irony is, the association of the “ok” symbol with white supremacy was started as a hoax to see if leftists would seize on it and overreact, and later actually adopted by Proud Boys when the hoax actually worked.  Poor kid…says a lot that he changed the picture immediately.  I’d totally hire him, except for the terrible screen name for which I also have some questions 🙋🏼‍♀️
