As of just checked exchange rates, $613.11USD for an overnight... May be worth a trip to Canada on its own merits.

I was recently perusing ads for NYC, and it's pretty definite that rates have now adjusted to $300-$400/hr. in general. Very shortly I shall be celebrating celibacy and solvency.
 
As a side note: For ads that state "ask" or "call for rates," I fall back to the old truism "if you have to ask, you can't afford it."

They can ask whatever they want all they want. All it does is turn me away from their ads and minimizes my hiring. It's too bad, because I would hire a whole lot more often if the rates were reasonable (like once a week instead of the once every three months its becoming). When I do hire, it also prevents me from considering an overnight or a weekend all together. Its too bad also, because I liked hiring for overnights and weekends in the past. My end conclusion is, I would rather do completely without than pay that much. Of course each of us will have make our own decisions.

You didn't make a mistake. The only "everybody" who matters here is you. If French kissing is a must for you, then you would not be satisfied with a playdate that didn't include French kissing. You are only conflicted because of the "new car smell" of an 18 year old. If this were a "gently-used" model on the lot you would have walked away immediately.

Ahhh...Mr. Lochte. <sigh> Lots of "hypocriters" came out to point fingers.

I was a bit pissed off to find how exaggerated the initial reports were-- they "destroyed" the rest room, they broke a door down, etc. Discovering that they peed against an outside wall and Lochte knocked down a poster, and were then held at gunpoint and were demanded to pay up is not the story we were told. Lochte's drunken lie to his mother and Billy Bush (he said he was still drunk when he did that interview, and watching it, I believe him) was stupid and compounded the whole issue, but the fact that the other swimmer had to make an $11.000 "donation" to leave the country makes it sound as if the authorities were taking full advantage of the situation.

Yes... and now they want to parade Mr. Lochte before the public for a thorough shaming. Shame indeed.
