My parents owned a hair salon, so growing up I was told you don't tip the owner of a business, but you tip the service team because they are maybe renting the chair, etc. I apply that to massage. When I go to a spa, I understand that you are paying the spa for the 60 or 90 minutes, the masseur is getting paid an hourly rate, therefore you tip the masseur at the spa. But if someone is working for themselves they can just set their own rates accordingly. This is why it seemed a bit brazen for him to turn around and ask me for a tip on top of a nearly $500 massage.

Curious what goes on at Eagle NYC Beer Blast later into the evening, I usually go early and leave by 10 because I have work on Monday mornings but I'm wondering, as the night goes on and especially after midnight, does the 2nd floor on Sunday nights turn into a sex party?

I haven't seen an Asian massage parlor yet that DOESN'T play this game. Advertising with some very fit muscular headless torsos only to discover some pear-shaped 40 year old chain-smokers who actually work there.
