Definitely a TEHO situation, and I had the same feeling @fm0322 after my first few. Since I like to get massages right after work, most of my scrubs are before the massage to ensure I’m clean an fresh. But now I look forward to them and really enjoy most. And along with clean and fresh, it’s a nice ice breaker with the masseur.

Had my first outing to Energy Men’s Spa. Have mixed feelings. First, communicating was difficult on phone and in person. I wish these places had the business sense to have at least one relatively fluent English speaker. Did 90 minute scrub/massage combo with Winn(? I think). The shower table was barely long enough for me so was a tad uncomfortable. I enjoyed Winn’s technique, appreciated him starting with my legs and spending a lot of time right up on the table. But he couldn’t maintain a deep and strong massage and there was virtually zero sensuality during both the shower and massage. He tried at the end but it seemed obligatory. Also the facilities are older than I expected. But I still had an enjoyable, relaxing time for $96.

Since I am almost completely incapable of commitment and planning, 90% of my massages, spa or private, are same day setups. For the private sessions, once they are set, I always text the masseur saying I’m on the way. Seriously, you’re suspicious because it would seem unlikely for a masseur to chance the customer not being clean? I now almost always douche before a massage because so many masseurs seem not to care about sticking their fingers and tongues up there. I was quite shocked by this when I first started getting massages. For me, it’s so pleasurable but a major turnoff if I’m not clean, so I’m always prepared even the with most apparently legit LMT.
