  1. Might just prove timing is everything. 😀
  2. This reminds me of the bad old days in the 1980's when Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen were considered killing grounds for gays. On my visits to NYC in those days I always avoided them and stuck to the West Village. Today I don't visit gay bars at all. I stick to well reviewed escorts on RM and so far so good.
  3. I will leave personal insults and logical fallacies to you since you seem to specialize in them, which is widely commented on not just by myself.
  4. Looks great.
  5. You're not stating which month of which year you are starting with. Also what base figure, $250 or $275. Your 18 percent is base exactly on what? We are both using Oct 2022 as final month, I assume. I am.
  6. Using the calculator provided by Walt $275 in 2019 is now $318. So I was a little off in my calculation. Because the situation has been dynamic in the last 3 years, choosing the base month is important.
  7. That shows that $250 in Jan 2020 buys $288.80 in Oct 2022. Which is close to what I said previously. Not $350 as someone else posited.
  8. I was only counting the last 3 years since 2019. Since 2022 is not yet finished current tables showing the last 12 months include the last 3 months of 2021 when inflation was running up. Look back at 2020. and you will see several months of deflation. It all adds up. That's why I adjust my prices in April when I know the final tally for the previous year. And my business is seasonal with most sales occuring over the spring and summer through fall. If you look at 2021 monthly inflation rates, you will see that that was the year when inflation got out of control, rising from 1.4 percent in January on a steady trajectory to over 7 percent in December.
  9. Online. But it was just to confirm what I know. I run a business and I increase my list prices by the previous year's annual inflation rate each year. Being doing so since 2012 so I keep close track.
  10. Very sad. Not the first and even sadder not the last.
  11. You're too high. Inflation from 2019 to 2022 has been 11.39 percent cumulative or 3. 6 average annually. Inflation prepandemic was very low and in the first 6 months of the pandemic deflation. So $275 is about $303 now.
  12. This study hasn't been peer reviewed yet.
  13. His ad states he is 135 pounds. That sounds awfully petite.
  14. Have a great time in Paris. My favorite foreign destination.
  15. So I just checked on life expectancy changes as a result of Covid. It appears the US has done worse than many European countries who have bounced back from 2020. The US has not and maybe surprisingly within the population, while the LE for those over 80 has bounced back to preCovid levels, it has not for those under 60.
  16. Yes, of course all those people are dying from what you described and have been doing so for millennia. But now more are dying from Covid on top of all those other causes. Covid wasn't around 3 years ago. It is having an effect on life expectancy in the US and not for the better.
  17. I'm not so sure of that. My pharmacist seems to have a nice business. He asked that I make an appointment for my flu shot and Covid booster online so all he had to do was check that I was eligible for the shots. He does alright by the prescriptions he fills too. His payments are guaranteed as he only accepts cash or plastic.
  18. Reading the link to the Harvard study, my takeaway is that while Covid deaths are down from the incredibly high level of last January, they are still a leading cause of deaths in the US (200 a day in California). That ain't nothing to be concerned about, especially if one has co-morbitities such as diabetes or lung disease.
  19. I got my flu shot a week ago and am to get a bivalent Covid vax on Monday. Having had my second Mpox a couple of months ago, I am now looking forward to no more pinpricks for awhile (I hope).
  20. When I turned 30 I accepted the fact that I was gay and never going to get married (marriage to a man was not possible then). So I bought a house, worked hard at my job and got ahead and decided I was going to enjoy life ( hence my moniker Luv2play). I don't dwell on the shouda, couda, wouda speculation. I'm just happy that at 75 I'm still living up to my moniker. And I retired at 50 so I've had a lot more time to devote to it than when I was working. One reason I retired early.
  21. Similar experience here in Eastern Ontario. My November bill just came in and was $204 and last years $109. I don't think the weather was any colder but the gas company has changed their online report and its now hard to find the comparison that they used to show. Clever folks there.
  22. When sleeping alone naked in the summer and a light t-shirt in the winter to keep my shoulders warm. When sleeping with a man always naked and in the winter he can keep me warm.
  23. I thought I saw an ad on RM the other day for Sir Peter. Maybe I was hallucinating.
  24. The WHO has now recommended that Monkeypox be renamed Mpox. It asserted that the name originally given it was no longer suitable as the virus at least worlwide now was spread by people, not animals to people and that the name gave rise to racist attitudes and steotypes. Interestingly, to bolster their arguments, it was pointed put that photos of victims portrayed in the media were Black and that its was mostly whites who were the victims in Europe and North America.
  25. You seem to have more than your share of gullible friends. It seems these types of scams are perennial and nothing new. Cupidity is in abundance it would appear.
