It has more to do with having a separate health agency which conducts its own testing of all new vaccine’s and drugs generally before they are released to the public. I believe this goes back to the thalidomide experience when inadequate testing was done with horrendous results.

The new COVID vax is not available yet in Canada. A bit of a bummer as my last booster was 9 months ago. Also the flu vax is not yet available. Of course these vaccines do not prevent one from getting sick but hopefully lessen the severity if infected. Last fall I finally got my two shingles vax which I had put off for years. Two weeks after my second shot I got shingles on my left lower leg. But it wasn’t very severe or extensive. So there’s that.

Back in March when I started this thread there had been 21 cases of Mpox in Toronto from the start of the year. Now the figure is 133 cases as of Aug. 24. Montreal on the other hand has only seen 9 cases. In 2022 Montreal was the epicentre in Canada for Mpox. But more Montreal gay men got vaccinated than in Toronto, especially taking the second shot. These numbers may seem low but in the gay community in Toronto, I imagine people are starting to hear about friends or acquaintances getting sick. Sex workers are at high risk of catching the disease. Good thing to ask about Mpox vax status these days. I do see a minority of RM providers mention it in their ads. More should do so if they had had the shots.

Sergio Mendes died today at the age of 83 from the effects of Long COVID, according to his daughter. For those who are too young to remember him, he was the King of the Bosa Nova craze in the ‘60’s.

See the post below yours. My recollection was correct at 10 percent and now latest info is 3.5 percent. I expect you will want to retract your statement.

I read in the NYT today that Mr. Bond aka Daniel Craig, who is 53, is starring in a film based on the novel by William Burroughs . He plays a gay character and there are supposedly some steamy scenes with younger actors and full nudity “gasp”. I don’t go to movie theatres but hopefully the film will be available online. I think the film was screened at the Venice Film Festival. The Toronto Film Festival is also underway but no word of it being on the programme there.

I haven’t seen stats that indicate the chances of getting long COVID are 50/50. More like 10 percent is what I recollect.

Next, travel advisories will tell tourists visiting the US not to wear expensive watches or jewelry in public, as is the case in countries like Brazil. Sad that it’s coming to this.

It’s Portsmouth, not Portsmith. And apparently it’s a tony place. I can’t think of his name but there is a very nice provider who has great reviews who lives there.
-
That makes sense. Some providers charge more than the standard rate for bb too.
-
Pretty limited offerings. Would not appeal to me but that’s just me. Some like what he’s offering.
-
Seems like a nice guy. Many positive reviews and his replies were also nice.

Is it usual to need oxygen after cosmetic eye surgery. I’m asking since I don’t know many people who have had it done. In fact I can’t think of anyone I know or know about.
-
So what. That doesn’t change the overall picture.
-
It seems one post about cosmetic eye surgery led everyone down a rabbit hole this time. I’m inclined to believe this guy got attacked as he states. He deserves our sympathy.

Influenza kills many people, especially those with underlying conditions. But unlike COVID it doesn’t leave people with long lasting deleterious effects, which I have read up to 10 percent experience.
-
The common cold does not leave a certain percentage experiencing it with dreadful symptoms such as chronic fatigue and brain fog as COVID does.

They have some expressions for this such as “there but for the grace of God go I” and “the good die young”. I always think that when I hear of such occurrences.
-
I wonder the same thing.

He told me about his career when I met him in September 2021. Very interesting work and I understand if he went back to that. I knew someone who had worked with him but before I met Trev. He knew the guy, who I had gone to university with. Of course when we got into bed, all such talk evaporated and other things came into focus!

I never gave up sessions with escorts throughout the pandemic. I did hire for weekends mostly and they travelled to me, who lives in a small town. They came from big cities. I vetted for ones who got vaccinated when it was available. Obviously I cut back on frequency but never abstained longer than 2 months. I never came down with anything even a cold. I did wear masks when in public places like shopping and avoided bars and restaurants except for a few high end restaurants in Montreal and Toronto and hotels there. The 5 star hotels were half empty and cheap. I took all the vaccines when available. Combo of Pfizer and Moderna: Maybe I did acquire a asymptomatic infection but it didn’t affect me one iota. I count myself as lucky nevertheless and count my blessings.

This doesn’t work with all tops. I have had several who asked me not to squeeze but rather to relax my ass muscles. They tend to be the bigger guys. Happened two weeks ago with an overnight session. After he asked the first time, I had to remind myself a few times. The morning session really loosened me up. 😈

Do you actually believe them when they say they are 18 or do you get some proof?

I don’t follow news on this subject daily but I read enough from dependable news sources and read the comments of central bankers in Canada, the US and elsewhere to know that the pandemic induced inflation worldwide is coming down markedly over the last year and is now approaching pre pandemic levels. Approaching, not there yet but the markets are now starting to price in a soft landing. They are hitting record highs many days and the bond markets are recording lower yields that are now affecting longer term mortgages and other instruments that are influenced by them. Here in Canada we have already had two central bank rate reductions in the last two cycles and are looking for 2 more before the end of the year. The Fed is poised to reduce rates in September. If all goes according to plan and there is not an external shock, things look good on the inflation front , interest rates for borrowers and market returns for investors. What’s not to like?
