"Danny" never responded, but the pic is the one from Aaronricks' ad & when I click the link in my sent email, it takes me right to Aaronricks. So in April he was Danny & now Aaron. Don't think I need to wonder anymore about this one.

Many states are so desperate for teachers that for quite a few years now they've had programs which allow districts to hire people with degrees in other areas. They place them in teaching positions and allow them time to take courses and/or exams toward educational certification...while they teach. My personal, well professional opinion, is that it's a slap in the face to those of us who completed 4 years + to earn our bachelor's/master's degrees. What other professions that require degrees allow you to do the job while you work toward your certification?

Then there's this: You know that big cast iron skillet that comes to the table overflowing with carne and pollo and vegetables and it's always screaming with sizzle and steaming with style? It's fake. Those fajitas are not cooked on that skillet. Those skillets are stored under the burner so they get good and hot. The meat and the veggies are all cooked whenever and then just sit under the heat lamp until the rest of the order is ready to go. When it is time, they put the fajitas on the hot skillet which is then placed on some old funky woven straw basket bullshit or a piece of wood. And then right before they go out, someone picks up a squeeze bottle of oil or water and they jizz all over the skillet. Abracadabra: steam. I would definitely suggest you speak with some teachers in your area, specifically some who work with the age group you're considering teaching. I've taught for 36 years, and the profession has changed drastically over those years. My state bases teachers' salary increases (when there's $ available after cuts) on student test scores. The majority of a teacher's annual evaluation is based on student test scores. Schools are also graded based on, you guessed it...student test scores. The biggest challenges however, in my opinion, are student behavior and parent accountability. When a parent is contacted about student misbehavior he/she is most likely to: a) deny the child's behavior ("I know for a fact my child didn't do that.") b) blame the teacher c) blame another student d) contact the principal to complain about the teacher e) join or form a facebook group to bash the teacher/school There are positives to the profession, to be sure. I wouldn't have stayed this long if there weren't. But with only 3-4 years left before retirement, I really worry about new teachers coming in to this job.

Thanks, I may check that out if needed. I'm sure the fact that I arrived after 1:00 am was a contributing factor. With Georgie's being the only business open, anyone parking & not going in there would be an easy mark.

Yes, but as I found out in April, don't just park in that shopping center lot & walk right to Johnson's. I had done that a couple of times previously when I couldn't find a metered parking spot near the club and it worked out fine. Then, one night in April, after spending only an hour at Johnson's I came back to the shopping center lot to find an empty spot where I'd left my car. That's a horrible feeling at 2:30 in the morning, in a city where you're a visitor. After looking around I found small signs stating that parking was for shopping center business patrons only & a number for the towing company. Had to take a cab & pay $130 to get my car back. The report stated "Walk off" as reason for towing, so I'm thinking they must have been there to see me park & not go into Georgie's which I think was the only business open at that hour in that lot. Ugh, not a fun way to end a Sat. night.

This guy has left his negative reports intact, though, so you're right about red flags. Interesting note: his most recent review shows "Not Relaxing" but photos are accurate. 4 reviews down, shows "Relaxing" and photo accuracy as "Yes but they are outdated."
