Not from a gentleman provider but the shoeshine stand at the Denver airport has a “pay what you’d like” policy. The first time I encountered it, i was a bit flummoxed as you surely are. Having generally paid $7-$10 plus tip in other airports, I paid the guy $12. But thinking about it on my way to my gate, what’s their average per shine? Does someone not pay at all? I‘m sure there are a few. Do wealthy and generous folks hand them a $100? I‘m certain they do. So I have never paid less than $20 in Denver because they do great work, they have fantastic attitudes and I believe they deserve a premium.
As in the case of the no set price provider? I think id be prepared to pay an hour-ranging between $200 for a disappointing experience up to $400 for my new boyfriend. ;-0!
