If someone says they have a "policy" of being paid in advance, I simply respond that that is a dealbreaker for me and ask if that’s a "dealbreaker" for them. If they say "yes", then I thank them for their time and I move on. I’d say about 50% say it’s a dealbreaker for them and about 50% agree to meet without being paid upfront. If they do decide to "break their policy" for me, then I make sure the money is clearly visible when they come into the room. That seems to be enough to set the skeptics at ease. I’ve had some great times with some guys who have broken their policy for me, so I think it’s worth at least asking.
I will tell you that refusing to pay an upfront will piss some guys off. I’ve certainly been spoken down to, berated, and even threatened for refusing to pay ahead of time. The funny thing is, the more agitated a guy gets, the more I think he’s a scammer, and the more I think I just dodged a bullet. So it’s a win-win in my book.

While I agree in principle, in practice this isn't always something i want to do. There are guys with whom I want to cuddle and others, despite having a great time and hiring again, whom I don't want to cuddle. It depends on chemistry.
I've had a provider do this! I came a little over an hour (we'll say 65 minutes) into a 90-minute session. I started cleaning up and he said "We still have 25 minutes together. May I cum for you and then show off some more?" After the 90 minutes were up (he actually went over time) he showered and we said our goodbyes. Needless to say, I've hired him over and over again.
Another time, long ago, I hired a regular for a 60-minute session. I came, he looked surprised, then he came, we said our goodbyes, and he left. I looked at the clock and realized it was 40 minutes past the hour. I had an amazing time, so I shrugged it off. About ten minutes later he called me to apologize for not realizing we still had 20 minutes left. He promised a two-hour session for the price of an hour the next time I hired him. The next time, he reminded me we would do two hours for the price of one. He was a regular right up to the day he retired. IIRC, he made a special trip to San Diego from WeHo (where he lived) to see me one last time.
Not every session ends this way. One guy, who I also hired regularly, shorted me on almost 30 minutes. I came early, he looked at the clock, said he was beat and started getting dressed. When I mentioned we booked two hours he told me he was beat and needed to get some rest. I deducted 25% of his fee. Shortly thereafter he sent me an email about retiring and being in a bad mental state. His shorting me was out of character for him, so I too him at his word about being in a bad mental state. I later learned he had been fired from his management-level day job. I wished him well.

Another motivation that nobody has mentioned is that when a company is being bought, it's pretty common for it to make some cost-saving moves pre-acquisition, either because the buyer wants those actions to be taken (to clean things up before the new ownership) or the executives who are hoping to keep their jobs want to look good (and not "lazy" as Johnrom says).  This action was taken with Skydance's approval (formal or informal), so it was a long-simmering action.
That being said, the timing couldn't have been worse.

If a session with a good escort "ends" early, I usually look at my watch and say something open-ended and inviting, like "We still have X minutes.  Do you want to hang out?"  That let's them answer either way.  If they say yes, then they'll likely be a repeat hire.  If they say no, they're a one-and-done (and no tip).  Of course, if the experience wasn't great, I just say goodbye.
I might feel different with masseurs, but I rarely hire them.

There’s suddenly an awful lot of things going on with/swirling around, both houses. Not sure the writing is up to the task of avoiding a Moldavian Massacre situation for the season finale.

I’m kinda sad about what’s going to waste…

I took the plunge and had a good, not great, experience.  Of course, YMMV.  If anyone wants details, feel free to DM.  A few observations about his RM ad.
First, he is at least as handsome as he appears in his pics, especially when he smiles.  He is in great shape, though maybe not as cut as in some of the pics.  He has a decent number of tats, but not too many.
Second, he does vape.  He vaped during our session, but he was discreet about it and didn't let it interfere with our activities.  The smell was inoffensive and dissipated quickly, so it didn't bother me at all.
Last, I think his measurements are slightly exaggerated (or maybe generously rounded up), though no more than in most RM ads.

With all due respect, Networks will subsidize known franchises with poor economics for a while.  If they were truly good businesspeople, they would have tried aggressively downsize staff, make cuts and make the numbers work.  But it’s all on autopilot and it finally crashed and burned.  The decline was slow and steady and the lazy management puts their heads in the sand because it’s a “legacy  show.”  Hope is not a strategy.  The network finally cut their losses, long overdue.  There is no conspiracy.

jackcali reacted to Chien Andalou in Would you hire a “side” provider?
There are plenty of “masseurs” who advertise on RM without offering full sex. Many state “Ask Me” as the position and don’t include anal in the things they’re into. Discreetly state in your text that you don’t fuck (however you want to say it) but do put what you’re willing to do (blow, kiss, rim) down below. I won’t generally hire an escort who won’t get fucked, but sometimes eating out a beautiful ass is more than enough. Give your future clients enough to make an informed decision.

PS: that holds true for all service providers. If you’re tired of “time wasters,” give enough information so we can weed ourselves out.

Below is a summary of previous comments and drama, on the link posted by @glutes
    ✅ Positive Reviews:
Multiple users reported positive in-person experiences, describing him as cute, sweet, polite, and looking exactly like his photos.
Sessions were said to be enjoyable, unhurried, and respectful, with some clients noting they would gladly see him again.
One user clarified that he’s more of a top, but willing to bottom if requested.
Some clients defended him, saying the deposit issue was a misunderstanding, and that he eventually refunded the money.

    ⚠️ Controversy:
A major dispute arose when DC Guy 92 accused him of a deposit scam, saying he was misled into sending $200 for a supposed trip that never happened.
DC said the masseur requested more money, then disputed the original payment, causing DC’s Venmo account to freeze.
Several users backed DC’s claims, calling it a deliberate scam and warning others not to send deposits, especially via non-refundable methods.
The masseur responded in a lengthy post, denying bad intent, blaming the dispute on miscommunication, ghosting clients, and Venmo mechanics.
He admitted he hadn’t bought a ticket and was waiting to secure more clients before committing to the trip.
After pressure, he issued a partial refund, then reversed it. Eventually, Venmo resolved the dispute in favor of the client.

    🔄 Name Change & Fallout:
During the dispute, the masseur changed his Rent.Men username from Gringotuyoo to Turbook, prompting more skepticism.
Reactions to the name change were mixed: some saw it as a red flag, others as a reasonable attempt to escape negative attention.
The thread sparked a broader debate on escort ethics, client protections, and the risks of using deposits in unregulated services.
Ultimately, forum moderators closed the thread after the dispute was resolved.

    💡 Takeaways:
Avoid sending deposits unless you’re sure of the provider’s reputation and payment method.
Misunderstandings over travel arrangements and communication style played a large role in escalating this dispute.
While some users still vouch for him, others view the situation as a serious trust violation.
This case became a cautionary tale for both clients and providers in handling money, expectations, and professionalism.

I am not falling for all these conspiracy theories peddled by the media about this.  The  business model has clearly changed.  These late night shows are a bygone remnant of a past era, ehen Carson and Leno and lettermsn reigned supreme.   Too much bloat of these staffs and writers. .  Not enough audience. Too many viewing options now, streaming, Netflix etc.   These shows outlived their usefulness ( kind of like Ted koppels Nighine ). and these became no longer funny for the most part. Like so many things in life, change is a given and the networks were slow to adjust to it. Bottom line - It’s the market speaking.

Colbert is paid $15 million a year.  His contract is up in May 2026, when the show will end.  $15 million plus the costs of production (even of a talk show) is a lot of money to spend on a time slot that can be filled with syndicated shows that will generate comparable revenues.
Colbert has been making that $15 million for the last six years, so I'm not particularly worried about him paying his rent when he retires from the show.

I’ve found saying ‘Thanks for the reply however that’s way above my usual budget of X. I appreciate your response and I hope you have a fantastic day’ to be VERY effective at negotiating rates. You never want to tell them their rate is too high because they’ll feel you’re offending their self worth. My response says what my budget is for it and that I’m moving on while wishing them a good day.

jackcali reacted to Himposium in Upload ID Verification
    Hey everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to share something I came across while exploring platforms that feature male masseurs. One well-known site, RentMen, asked for my government-issued ID just to view profiles. That didn’t sit well with me.
I understand that ID verification is sometimes required for posting services—that makes sense for accountability and safety. But to simply browse content? That felt excessive, and frankly, unnecessary.
For anyone considering using platforms like this, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Your ID contains sensitive information (name, date of birth, license/ID numbers). Once uploaded, you’re trusting the platform to store and protect that data securely. Not all sites have strong privacy protections.
Data breaches are real. Even well-known companies have been hacked. If a site’s policy isn’t transparent about how long they keep your info or what they do with it, that's a red flag.
There are alternative platforms that allow you to browse or connect without giving up your identity. In an era where privacy matters, we shouldn’t feel pressured to hand over personal documents just to explore.
For these reasons, I’ve chosen to opt out of using any site that demands my ID for viewing access. I believe in exploring with curiosity—but also caution.
Just wanted to put this on your radar in case it helps someone else make an informed decision. Stay safe out there.

Brother doesn't necessarily mean a sibling, in the biological sense.    It can also refer to a close male friend or a member of the same group, like a fraternity brother. In a familial context, a brother is someone with whom you share a deep bond, often forged through shared experiences and a sense of mutual support.
African-american men often refer to each other as brothers.
