So I found a thread I contributed to from 18 years ago. Think about that. 18 years. I've grown old here. And, of course, I am not the only one. Our days of going to The Gaiety in New York, Stella's, etc. etc. et cetera seem so far gone, but it sure is nice to have a record of the fun we had. Present times, pandemic aside, seem so tame. My younger self was so much more active and in such better shape than I am now. I can only look with envy.
And for all of the guys who are aging with me on the forums, thank you. I couldn't have stuck with it but for the encouragement and support from you. I won't name names, but management gets credit too.

On March 17, 2005 the last stage show took place at the Gaiety. What a sad night that was. Unfortunately, nothing in NYC ever came close to replacing it.
 
So many happy memories. If you do a search on the Gaiety you’ll find many discussions and reviews. Those dancers became household names.

March 10th Update. Daddy/Guy Fawkes tested negative on his 2nd covid test. Other than that everything remains the same. More attempts to wean him off the ventilator have been unsuccessful. He has not regained consciousness since entering the hospital on 2/26.

There's a new more contagious version of COVID-19 in the UK and now the US. In the Los Angeles area 1 in 5 people tested is showing to be infected. This is an huge increase from before the holidays.

I have a part time job at Home Depot. We're in upstate NY.
It seems the older folks don't know how to wear the mask properly (a lot of older folks have it below their nose).
The younger ones seem to either have it around the chin, or none at all.
 
I'm a terrible judge of age, though. LOL. "younger" to me may not resemble reality.
 
I don't like wearing the mask (especially 8 hour days, makes my ears hurt, and glasses fog up no matter what). But I wear it because I'm supposed to, and also required at my job. (even after the store closes, we're required to wear the masks, even though I'm the only one in like a 5,000 sq foot area).
 
To me, it seems simple: If all it takes is I have to wear a stupid mask, so that I can stay employed and life can be "semi-normal", I'll do it. I don't want to go to Phase 1 again.
