as with militaryclassified and the other similar sites, I believe they had many more true military or recently-separated military guys in the earlier years......with increased visibility on the internet and more awareness of "the internet is forever", the sites have had to relax their "real military" claims as active military guys shy away from these sites.....I note today's militaryclassified "release" is one originally from 2006! here's an interview with Rob Navarro of militaryclassified, a somewhat similarly-themed site to activeduty, who discusses today's challenges, among other topics.....

Most people guarantee a hotel reservation with a credit card which will hold the room until, usually, 6am the next morning. Presumably, a night auditor or clerk is available for checking in late guests or there is some self-check-in ability. Of course, you'll be charged for the room whether or not you show if you didn't cancel following the hotel's cancellation policy....... (off topic...I know)
