Is Reddit an Escape from Social Media Madness?
+ Cash4Trash replied to mike carey's topic in The Lounge
I want to stay involved with social media in some way and visit Reddit daily. Dropped Facebook and never bothered with other sites. On Reddit you choose the subreddits you want to visit, there are thousands of them. I enjoy: r/movies, r/uppereastside (each neighborhood has a subreddit), r/askoldpeople, r/worldmews, r/television and r/aww (cute pets). You can build an internet community of like minded people and not have raging political nut jobs shoved down your throat. The site, in general, skews left but there are conservative subreddits as well, I just don't choose to visit them, mainly because they've all joined the Trump can do no wrong camp. Keeps me involved but in a most enjoyable way. I'd say more but now I have to go look at cute cats on Reddit. -

Years ago the Taviani Brothers made Caesar Must Die, a production of Julius Caesar performed by inmates of a Roman prison. Well worth watch. Spoiler - 2 prisoners were pardoned so that they could pursue professional acting careers.

Not memorable but still a lot of fun.

Cirque Du Soleil's soundtrack for Saltimbanco works best for me. Soft and tender one moment, orgasmic high the next.

UnitedHealth uses AI model with 90% error rate to deny care, lawsuit alleges ARSTECHNICA.COM For the largest health insurer in the US, AI’s error rate is like a feature, not a bug. The shooter killed one, United Healthcare has killed so many more. Using an algorithm that is known to be wrong 90% of the time. Like it or not, the peasant uprising has just begun.

David Cromer's off-Broadway production in 2010 was the best. Thrust stage area, audience was seated on 3 sides. House lights never went down and some of the action was in the audience. Made those of us watching feel like we were citizens of Harpers Ferry watching a story about our friends and neighbors or we might have been dead as well and sitting in the local graveyard. Very upfront and personal and I consider it to be the definitive production.

Penty of great actors of all ethnicities. Don't blame DEI casting, blame the casting director - the real culprit.

I had a good friend who had been seeing a guy he picked up at Rounds, a hustler br in New York. It had gone on for several years and my friend was bored but the guy lived a street life and didn't have a penny to his name. My friend don't want to dump him so he conned me into being this tricks new John. Good looking guy, great body. First time we did have oral sex, no anal and spent most of the hour with me consoling him because his girlfriend had just dumped him. Wanted me to help write a letter that would get her back.

PBS Passport has a 3 part documentary entitled Disco! Love's Theme by the Love Unlimited Orchestra was the record that forced radio to play our music which was considered underground and not quite right for popular tastes. Lots of interesting tidbits and background on the who, what and where of the late 70's craze.

Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike

Sadly, Lincoln Center has pulled it. Magnussen was brilliant. He took a role that could easily have been cliche and gave an original performance. -
The original production of Vanya and Sonya with David Hyde Pierce and Sigourney Weaver is now available on YUouTube.

Not an expert and may be talking out of my butthole but I believe the 2017 tax package giving 1.8 trillion to the wealthy also included a clause that taxes would go up this year and again in 2027 (?) for middle income earners. It's an offset for the millionaire tax gift.
