If Jerry (Chinese, slightly built) is the same Jerry who worked at Utopia (and East Men's Spa), run, do not walk, to his new spa.
Jerry is one of the best!! He knows how to massage, and pampers his clients. Also a super nice guy,

When I'm at a spa, and I see a cute, muscular guy who I'd want to be my masseur on my next visit, I just ask the person at the desk who that cute, muscular guy is. They're always happy to tell me.

It appears that quite a few masseurs who are not LMTs do not advertise therapeutic massage because they don't want to present themselves as someone who can treat muscular problems, or even aches and pains. I think that's to their credit; truth in advertising!
He certainly is unkempt, but so are most people his age. Half the "models" who appear on TV, and especially major league baseball players, are slobs who I wouldn't allow in my home. At least the NY Yankees won't allow those facial excrescences.
I think the last paragraph belongs in The Forum, but what the hell......

He may be telling the truth; at $100, there was probably a demand for his services, so he put 2 and 2 together, and raised his prices. That's what we call free market capitalism! As for not responding, that's what I call poor marketing.

I think this guy, being new to the game, just doesn't know how to market himself. Yes, great photos!
He needs an agent or a publicist. Maybe he'll trade some free massages for some marketing advice?
    (hint, hint!)

There was some talk in The Spa over the past few days about being short changed on time at Utopia. I commented in a reply that management reads these posts, and also that clients should complain to management, as Mark and Jack want to do right by their customers.
I have been a client at both spas for some time, and Jack (Xiao) knows that he can always email me. I received an email from him today, saying that yes, "I read the reviews [comments]on the message forum." He added, "I am so sorry abut [our] masseurs' behavior" regarding short time. "I hate that," he added.
He also said that if clients complain at the front desk about being shorted on time, "Clients don't need to pay full fee and tips."
He asked me to get this message out, knowing that I would comply with his wishes.

About Times Square and their video cameras: No one said that the interiors of the rooms are shown WHEN THERY ARE OCCUPIED! Maybe you're getting upset over nothing? I can't imagine they would have any customers if they showed clients getting massages! Of course, it's not comforting to know that they could do that.
But I've never been there, so I'll stay out of this controversy. But, don't make a mountain out of a molehill. Just saying.....

I am really puzzled. I've never been to Jose, but I've read so many marvelous things about him....and then I've read the comments in this thread..... Is he moody? Is he friendly? If ever there was a YMMV, this is it! I guess there's only one way for me to find out......

Reminds me of a recent recommendation of mine (what's more, it was given to one of the people who posted in this thread) about a masseur I've been seeing for ten years, and he told me the masseur was awful. He didn't blame me, but I felt bad that I had recommended the masseur, and the client thought it was a total waste of money.

As they say, YMMV, and buyer beware! Any further comments on Jose will be appreciated.

I definitely agree with EVdude about Victor at Utopia. (I don't know the other two.) Victor is a good masseur, and will expand the envelope. He's about 6.2, 190. In his 30s. Nice guy, too.

If you want a masseur to start a massage while you're wearing underwear (or draped with a towel, which is easier), and then gradually slide his hands under the towel or the underwear, JUST TELL HIM THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT HIM TO DO, and turn the session into a scripted role-play. I've done that, and we both enjoy it. I also tell him to begin the massage in his underwear, and then take it off without my knowledge, and suddenly appear, standing directly in front of me, with his junk in my face. Very sexy and lots of fun!

I don't have the link, but Mark Nuttle in the West Village is outstanding. He's on Leroy Street, just west of 7th Ave. You can find him on either Masseurfinder or Rentmasseur, or both.

I agree with jharrison about Peter. He has been one of my go-to guys for years. He's an LMT, and does the massage on a bed, but has a table if you ask. Yes, the $100 includes a (very) happy ending and mutual touch. His first 45 minutes is a legit massage, but the net 15 minutes is.....wow! Things that should not be described in detail here. He's also a very nice guy, and one block from the 1 train.

That's what I was thinking. He's probably an excellent masseur, and probably provides an experience that I will remember longer than that of most other masseurs. We willingly pay $150/hour, so why not just skip another massage one week, and pay $250 for Jay Anthony? That would probably be a wise decision.
