I don't get why you'd think you shouldn't check it out, especially since you had reason to be concerned about her decision-making ability. It's not a violation. I mean, ideally one of you would have been doing it periodically while she was alive. There wasn't really anything left to check in my mother's case, as her not-that substantial funds were exhausted by her care expenses at the end. As I had been subsidizing her, I provided my siblings with an accounting of what I had spent and I just got a correspondingly larger share of the home equity when we split it.

Well there's also the fact that since in this country insurance follows the job, they run the risk of paying an extra couple thousand dollars they don't collect any premium to offset if the person picks up his 90 day supply then quits his job the next day. (EG Asian woman is going from a 90-10 expected split of "work" to 70-30 and that feels like a win, white guy is going from 50/50 to 30/70 and that's a win for him. I don't see them going for it as the most likely outcome of such a scenario is more work for them for less revenue for them. I'm not saying you don't have a point that you are providing content and they are making money off it. But that's their model. If users had to pay each time to see albums, they'd likely just...look at fewer albums. And there are likely a large number of users who join JUST to look at the pictures, so contacting people who viewed you, even multiple times, is probably a waste of your time.

It could also be a case of saying it to make themselves look better even if they are not open to all races. The fact is, the gay sites tend to focus more on hooking up so the people on them are less concerned with looking like a nice person.

Did you really fail in your career or was your career ended by your illness? You didn't get to do something you wanted to do. That's really not that uncommon. I think it's probably a good exercise to try to look forward to the things you can still do and think about it that way. Certainly easier said than done, but bailing on it seems like it's reinforcing your negative thought patterns. I don't mean to diminish your problems here, I'm just trying to think out what practically you can do. Your disease isn't going to go away, nor is it going to strike you down soon it seems, so you need to figure out how to make the most of what you are working with. As for the dead-end question - my sister is in a nursing home with a degenerative disease. She has a husband and kids. They see her like a couple of times a YEAR. Don't assume having your own immediate descendants would have been better. There are things worse than having no kids. Like having bad ones.
