  1. And he’s a Red Sox fan. Gotta love em!!
  2. Whenever I have to do some sorrowful like attend the funeral of a friend or colleague the first thing I do when I get home is put on one of two movies: Little Shop of Horrors or The Ritz. By the end of either I’ve discovered i can laugh again and face the world. The only staged production I’ve seen of Little Shop of Horrors was an amateur one at the local junior college: painful.
  3. I was a friend of Howard Ashman’s cousin, Mike. When Howard died Mike was assigned to bring their grandmother to the memorial service to be held for Ashman at the theater on lower 2nd Avenue where Little Shop of Horrors opened. Mike said that until that service his grandmother had no idea that her famous and beloved grandson was gay.
  4. Saw Jake Deckard twice in his pre porn days. He was one of the masseurs I ever experienced.
  5. Saw him twice and it was not enough. The second time he proved the old adage that best tops are good bottoms. After that session he had time to join me for supper nearby. At the time we were both in the midst of extensive DIY projects. We traded notes with enthusiasm. I can recall feeling that in my old age I wouldn’t mind if my rocking chair was parked near his at the old age home. And now that old age is approaching. BTW I think I saw him on Scruff about 2 years ago. Sexy as always.
  6. Don’t know what sport they play but I’m a fan.
  7. Yea but they declined my application and the local vetters made entires that should have corrected the DB and I still was rejected. No explanation.
  8. Mobile Passport is a free app. I’ve used it several times coming from Asia. I’m usually a wheelchair bound passenger. It’s extremely fast and convenient.
  9. The smile alone . . [swoon]
  10. I’m jealous! Enjoy
  11. Moonlight Sonata or chopsticks?
  12. Not for me but can I stay and watch?
  13. In the Army I was stationed in Heilbronn Germany. I had a Simca Etoile that required a pint of oil each round trip to Stuttgart. Sold it to a Türkische Gastarbeiter when I left. He thought he knew how to repair it. Such memories. Lol
  14. A decade or two ago I was Chairman of The Board of a small non profit residential drug treatment program on NYC’s upper west side. I’ll never forget what one ex addict and now gifted councilor told me. “All of these guys come dysfunctional families. The problem with this analysis is that not all dysfunctional families produce addicts.”
  15. I agree wholeheartedly with all of the above. But I wonder if there’s also a slight demographic component here. We lost a whole generation of beautiful men to the AIDs epidemic. They’re just not around to be role models to influence these guys.
  16. Yes I will!
  17. I was a junior banker on Chrysler account at a bank the was a crucial link between Chrysler’s US banks and its European lenders. President Carter was not a fan of the bailout plan that involved a government guarantee until Coleman Young, mayor of Detroit in the back seat of the presidential limo pointed that all of Chrysler’s 5 manufacturing plants were in central cities or adjacent to a city and that one in 5 black employed workers would become jobless. There was a multi day bankers meeting at the RenCen hotel in Detroit that ended with luncheon at which Lee Iacocca presented the latest version of the bale out plan. I flew back to NYC in time make to colleague’s bachelor party but left almost immediately with what appeared to be stomach virus. After a very rough night I dragged myself into the office to file a report to the European lenders. I called my contacts at Chrysler to fill in few blanks or verify points in my report. I got thru to none of them. By Monday morning it became evident that what they and I and many other bankers had was food poisoning from that luncheon. If i remember correctly one junior banker on the west coast died of it. In all the meetings I attended, Lee Iacocca was dynamic forthright and honest. RIP
  18. I once walked into a Best Buy late in the afternoon of Black Friday to purchase some cheap electronic staple that wasn’t a Black Friday item. The clerk entering my purchase fell asleep standing up there.
  19. Well I’m going to keep my Spleen. Two weeks ago I got to the Emergency Room with a minor heart attack and a platelet count of 2. I’d been treated in San Antonio. I live in Laredo. My local cardiologist called in a local hematologist. He reviewed the treatments I’d gotten and conferred with my SA hematologist. But being on the border and he knew the prevalence of H.pylori. Sure enough! He added antibiotics I’m going home today with a platelet level of 59 and hope for the future. Amen!
  20. Lol. Oooops. Yes and mine also.
  21. Me either (except they paid for car insurance on my Beetle cuz my mom worked for the company). I was a returning VietNam era veteran. The school I choose and accepted now costs $60m a year. I got by with the GI bill scholarships and loans and workin both on campus and off. When I graduated I owed an amount that could have purchased a run down brownstone on the park block of Central Park West. It took about 15 years to pay off and during that time the need for monthly payments severely limited career moves. Do I regret it? Not really but I sometimes wonder “What if . . .”
  22. FWIW Fairfield University is Catholic (Jesuit) school. If they become aware of this episode I wouldn’t be surprised if they withdrew the acceptance not because he’s gay but because he’s displayed some bad judgement.
  23. I think the parents should admit their own failure as parent and kick the kid out.
  24. Too much of a good thing is never enough.
  25. Moonlight Sonata. Just wait.
