The looming doctor shortage seems to be an unintended consequence. But it fits neatly into to the philosophical debate over healthcare with liberals insisting it’s a birthright and others insisting it’s a commodity that needs to be purchased like any other commodity.

I once ran into him ahead of me on line in the PO that used to be across Broadway from Lincoln Centre. Even fully clothed that cleft chin was unmistakeable. I could not stop staring. Instant erection. It was after work and we were both dressed in business attire (suit and tie). As he left our eyes met for an instant. I had the sense (fantasy?) that he was aware of why I was staring but grateful that he could escape without further recognition.
