I’ve seen him before when he spent a summer in Brooklyn. I had to go back into my ‘ledger’ lolll- I have him listed as Murat- Turkish- horrible 20 mins- in July 2013. I remember it ended in less than 30 mins and minimal effort from him. He does look like the photo posted by CheckCar- (at least he did almost 10 years ago)

I live in NYC- and I agree - it’s no longer as fun as it use to be. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by a past experiences that went above and beyond, so when it doesn’t go there, it’s harder for me to finish now. I took a 3 month break bc of Mpox - and just started back today and it was so much of a let down, I knew I should’ve listened to my instincts and not wasted the money. It started off great;  then I could tell he was just trying to ‘finish the session’ but Jack rabbiting me which makes it much harder for me to ‘finish’- so in the end I just said I’m good, thx.

Preprint from France just dropped. MPXV PEP and breakthrough cases. Maddeningly, there were 2 SPXV-vaccinated cases (obviously historically, and they received the single MVA-BN dose in this study) but the researchers did not specify them within the individual list of the 12 cases in terms of timing of exposure/dose/infection. It appears that many of the breakthrough cases received PEP too late to offset infection following exposure.

In short, kind of, yes. The monkeypox vaccine give what can be generally called sterilizing immunity.

To be extremely, extremely simplistic, a lot depends upon the virus, its site of infection/entry into the host, and the type of immune response elicited by the vaccine. Viruses are incredibly diverse, very cool life forms.
For SARS-CoV-2, our current vaccines, while reducing symptoms of severity, don't elicit the type of immune response at the right virus' points of entry in our body, to prevent infection. And SARS-CoV-2 replicates like crazy once in the host.
For monkeypox (and smallpox, and the unrelated viruses, measles, HPV etc.) the vaccines elicit immune responses that prevent infection, or slow it down sufficiently to halt it and to stop it from becoming symptomatic.

The one thing about this outbreak that has 'hit' me hard is all the references in news articles to gay sex and how much sex gay men are having.
Let me say up front - There is ZERO judgement on my part, if anything, I'm jealous.  I go months between sexual encounters, but so many of the articles I read reference the multiple partners and multiple times a week gay men are having sex.
Is there just a haves vs have nots thing going on here?  I feel more and more disconnected from the 'community' and feel like I'm not one of the cool kids.
 
I will say, monkeypox definitely sounds like it can be mild or really fucking scary.  I'll be on sexual sabbatical for a while as a result.
