Totally forgot about this. Your are so right! The shared contacts issue is legitimately one of my big nightmares. You are correct What's App wants your device contacts to sync to there servers and link you to other people. I hate it. lol Google Voice does use the google contacts associated with that google account so it uses a separate source. That's how I'm currently making it work. I recently had to go through a process to create a hobby google account and port my google voice number over to the new account JUST to accomplish this. Back to the drawing board. A burner of some kind is sounding more and more likely. 😞 It just seems like there should be a better way. Feel like I've wanted a way to keep work and personal separate for years and there still isn't a good solution for that. Something that truly separates and silos the two without requiring a second device. The same concept would be perfect for this. 🙃 *sigh*

SUMMARY of the responses I’ve seen: 1) Primary Phone - “I’ve got nothing to lose” or “I don’t see any real danger in it” 2) Burner App - seems to be THE preferred option by a good contingent! 3) Prepaid Number - Third option appears to be a prepaid sim to use for texting 4) Whatsapp Business - Using a Burner or Prepaid number to setup a whatsapp business as a secondary whatsapp messenger. There were a few other one-offs so I apologize if I didn’t identify yours, but these seemed to be the front runners!

Question? The Question: Saw some discussion about why encrypted messaging apps aren't more widely used by Providers. Well my question is for clients?! Personally, I'm getting frustrated with Google Voice as my primary because it doesn't support RCS and some providers frequently complain about GV users as being inherently flaky. So what is the BEST most preferred way to message that offers the most anonymity, privacy, security while reassuring providers you're a serious client and not spam!? Long Version: Encrypted Apps Setup: Most encrypted messaging apps require a valid phone number to activate. Most messaging apps now exclude VOIP numbers issued from third party apps or Google Voice Numbers. Meaning even if you choose to use an encrypted messaging software you have to decide whether or not to associate that encrypted account with your primary cell or acquire a second number. Whatsapp: Whatever number you use to create a whatsapp account will be shown/displayed to whomever you message from whatsapp so if you used your primary number to set up whatsapp then message a provider, you have effectively given that provider your primary number as well. 🙃 What's app is end to end encrypted and only unsent messages are stored on their servers and even then only for 30 days. Unless someone gets your device or the providers device you have reasonable assurance your messages are secure. Signal: Similar to Whatsapp, Signal requires a number to establish an account. There is some conflicting information on Reddit with some indicating that they were able to create an account using a VOIP issued phone number. Additionaly, Signal makes a greater effort to collect less overall data about the sender of messages other than the bare minimum necessary to transmit the message. They are an open source non profit who's primary focus is secure messaging. Dual Sim: Now, iOS and Android both allow you to dual sim. Meaning you can run two numbers in real time and choose before sending messages or making phone calls which number to use. You can even assign specific numbers to default based on contact record. This could become a lot too manage and doesn't allow you the reassurance of just signing out of an app to disconnect when you need to be offline. A second e-sim with a unique real number (not-VOIP) for texting can be had for less than $40 for a full year of service check out esimdb.com and pick your poison. Burner: I don't think in the modern day that it's actually possible to acquire a true burner easily/legally. The US Gov want people to acquire phones with cash and no other identifying info. Someone tell me if that's true, but the last time I researched this it seemed next to impossible. Faux Burner: Do you keep a second device with a prepaid sim or some other pay as you go or even a full secondary monthly payment to message providers? This way your daily driver primary phone is not associated with your extracurricular activities. If you are using a cheap prepaid account and have an old phone laying around it's an option. You do now have another device to keep charged and carry around with you to check surreptitiously. Short Version: What do you primarily use to message providers? Do you think you think it's relatively anonymous or private or don't care? Do you think it's secure or don't care? I'm looking for a new solution. Considering upgrading my phone then getting a cheap e-sim for texting and whats app. Yay another device to keep up with and charge.

Providers requiring Client photo to meet!?
jockstrapdaddy replied to jockstrapdaddy's topic in Questions About Hiring
This is one of my thoughts ... basically want to see if they can make their grindr past time a paid hobby. 😂 Treat it like it's a dating app! 🙃 -
Before the last 3 years, never once had a provider ask me for a pic. Now they ALL seem to ask for it, with some demanding a photo. Objectively from their perspective, they want to know who they are meeting and it gives them a sense of security that the client will not flake on them. As a client, I have the exact opposite reaction. 1) sharing a photo puts clients at risk of blackmail and extortion 2) it eliminates client discretion and anonymity 3) part of hiring providers is to eliminate fear of rejection based on appearance What are your thoughts? Do you provide photos? Edited to add: Just curious about some demographics for those that aren't concerned about sharing a photo: * Are you retired? * Are you at will employment, self employed or some form of union? * Are you in a blue state (US)?

Met with Marco today and he was a 14/10 highly recommend. His pictures are accurate. 💯 This man gives an amazing deep tissue massage. He does not slather you in massage oil and leave you feeling like a greased pig. Literally the best massage I’ve had in easily 5 years. His english is good, but you may have to repeat yourself or rephrase things occasionally. He was very sweet in accommodating my particular requests. If you want more details please PM me.
