This may not come as a surprise to some of the veterans on this site, but I just need to state it clearly: A4A has an extraordinarily high number of fakers amongst its NY pro section. Guys who post pics that are not them, and offer services that they won't perform. Low level grifters and scam artists.

I have significant experience hiring from Rentboy, Rentmen, and some other sources, and never ran into the problem this consistently. My strong recommendation is to REQUIRE a specific slelfie (like the old three finger selfie approach) before firming up an appointment. If they won't do it, do not proceed.

Caveat emptor

Now I am going to have to go to A4A and check out the Pro section for NYC! :D I am curious:

1. do you ask if the pictures posted are accurate when you set up the appointment? Do they flat-out lie? That is pretty ballsy.

2. do you think that it is more prevalent for incall vs outcall?

3. is there any way to post a review on A4A?

Thanks for indulging me!

I always ask if the pictures are real and recent. The first warning sign is when some guy who appears, via his pictures, to be a massively-dicked Adonis dreamboat will offer to indulge my every kink, then announce a rate of $150 -- too good to be true. I then ask for a selfie and I get a million reasons why they can't. As soon as the evasion starts, I block them and move on.

I haven't really noticed a trend with incall vs outcall. It seems to be universal. And boy do I wish there was a way to review them at A4A, but that doesn't appear to be a feature at the site.

I think a4a is a really lousy site. Somehow it feels low-rent to me vs. other sites like MF and it also seems to lack lots of info that you then have to deal with through their not so great messaging. Anybody agree? Disagree?

At $30/month an A4A pro-ad is inexpensive (or low-rent).

Lack of info came from A4A's self-preservation transition away from escort ads. Now escorts are trying to advertising through a thin or not-so-thin guise of a masseur ad. The ability to switch an ad quickly from hookup/dating profile to ad and back also attracts non-career escorts.

There's something to be said for the low-rent scene. I miss the early '90s when escorts were just horny guys advertising under aliases in the Advocate Second Section for $100 - $150. Every now and then I could find a fairly normal hot guy on A4A -- someone who hadn't decided to create an entire persona for long-term business on one of the major sites.

I just remembered this post.

Adam has become worst after the closing of CL and BP, but still plays an important role in our market. More and more guys are asking for 300, and I just do not think sex worth that amount when you have so many ways to hook up for free or for much, much more affordable prices.

Without Adam, I do not think I would be able to set a 200 cap with success.

A4A, Grindr, and SA 150-200 the range for me, with success.

What's SA?

Do you mean you use these three primarily to find escorts and you end up paying between 150-200?

I'm interested on how you approach escorts on Grindr, or do they hit you up?
