I caught the middle and end of a performance last night and did not catch the guy's name. He had a black outfit on with a red loop around his neck and a red strap around his hand and was knock-out gorgeous. He did a great sort of Spanish routine but apparently was sick during a previous round and did not medal. Wow. Did anyone have the same reaction?

Is Weir gay? Mind your own business, bitch.

Here's a well written piece on Weir, post loss, in today's NY Times:

http://select.nytimes.com/2006/02/17/sports/olympics/17selena.html?8hpib

"With Candor, Character Is Divulged." I like the title.

The more I read about him, the more I like him. He's only 21 and incredibly self-possessed. I'd love to meet his parents.

The media often behaves like a bully but Galindo should take care of that chip on his shoulder. Being gay by itself will not make you a star. The fact that the scandal-whoore reporters haven't asked Weir shows unusual restraint. I think it's refreshing. Plus, Weir is handling the PR game better than Madonna. Go Johnny! (I may want to fuck him, after all.)

When did asking if someone is gay become as acceptable as asking what you paid for your house? Some people will NEVER have any class.

Carmen program

The guy in black with the Spanish theme and sick was Evan Lysacek, the American who came in 4th overall. He had the flu and could barely get out of bed. They had him on IVs which they pulled out so he could go skate. The program was generally well received. He sat in the stands later and was obviously very disappointed when Jeff Buttle's scores put him out of medal contention.

RE: Carmen program

He was sick as a dog for the short program. The IVs came out a day before the long program.

An Olympic experience is a permanent memory. He can add getting his personal worst and personal best scores to his. Pretty phenomenal comeback if you ask me.

You and I have similar tastes. I get hard watching Ohno compete. Love his body and his lips. LOL

These are a little more revealing.

Sorry about the poor quality on the nude picture. Couldn't find one that didn't look like it had been folded.

Here's one of Johnny Weir (this may have already been posted in another thread).

I was surprised to read in "15 Minutes" that in his on-line profile at MySpace.com he identifies his orientation as "Bi". I personally think he's totally gay but am surprised he'd only admit to being Bi.

He may have a hugh ego that turns some people off. But, he's also got guts to be somewhat open about his orientation.

Newlywed Evgeny Plushenko won silver at Salt Lake City and turned heads this season with his wildly popular "Sex Bomb" routine. While he's got a killer jump sequence in his arsenal (quadruple toe loop-triple toe loop-triple loop... really!) will it be enough to bring home gold from Torino?

Thank you very much OneFinger! I love these! :-)

In fact I think that you should even post the ones that have folds in them like you were talking about. Theres no need to apologize.

We should email each other sometime and trade sources for our pictures. I LOVe the ones that you have posted! Theres just something about seeing Winter Olympics athletes posing nude and semi-nude that I find extremely hot.

OneFinger, thanks for adding the pics to the thread.

If anyone wants Johnny Weir's site with pics, go to:

I could not find a site with shirtless pics of Brian Joubert when I Googled him. The pics in this thread of Brian appeared in a local gay mag in Ft. Lauderdale, but there were no credits on the photos. Perhaps, OneFinger or someone else has found a site and can point us to it.

Well, he's not a gay figure skater (we can only wish). But I did find these pictures of him that you might enjoy. It's the closest thing I could find to a shirtless shot.

Paul Duchesnay

As I was looking at the list of gay figure skaters, there was a remark about the "androgynous team" of Paul and Isabelle Duchesnay, brother and sister who won the world championship in 1991. I had not thought of them in a long time, although I enjoyed their performances very much. It noted that Paul was involved in a serious accident while roller blading and had to give up skating completely in 1996. It said that he hoped to move to Florida; but this was back in the late 90s. But I looked under ZabaSearch, and there is a Paul Duchesnay with the correct birthdate living in Naples, Florida. Does anyone know if this is the ice skating Paul and what he is doing now? Is there an ice skating club in Naples where he might coach? (They were one of the first teams in which the woman lifted the man off the ice and whirled him around; I can remember the shocked sounds of the audience when Isabelle first lifted Paul up and tossed him around. Isabelle was married for a while to Christopher Dean, although they had no children. Chris' partner Jayne Torvill lifted Chris also in their memorable performance to "Bolero." It's called "gender equity" activity.)

RE: Paul Duchesnay

I remember the French couple very well. They were a top notch pair.

What I remember most is that breathtaking performance of Bolero by Torvill and Dean. I still have it on an old VHS tape from the 80s. They were one of the best ice dance couples, if not the best, of all time.

Does anyone remember the Protopopovs? They were another ice dance couple who skated into their 50s - gracefully and lovingly.

Such fond figure skating memories.

RE: Paul Duchesnay

One of the greatest programs I ever saw was

the Protopopovs skate to "Ave Maria". It was

a transcendental experience. They were older at

the time, but so committed to the art and music.

Just fabulous.

Cam,

Thanks for your post. I believe I saw that performance on TV, but didn't remember it. I will now. Clearly, at some point the couple was too old for the olympics, but they continued to compete and to perform in exhibitions. Many people remember Torvill and Dean, but I think few remember the Protopopovs. But they deserve to be remembered as one of the great ice dancing couples in figure skating history.
