I’ve lived in a major metropolitan area my whole life and have been oblivious to the market forces regarding hiring. Now, in my recent retirement, I’ve moved from downtown to a small village on the coast some 40 miles north. It takes about an hour to get to my new home from downtown.

 

 

 

What are the incentives for someone to do an out-call? It seems a lot of bother for a one-hour appointment. Or am I misreading the situation? Are multi-hour appointments necessary to sweeten the pot? Or are there folks willing to travel an hour for an hour-long appointment?

Thats 2 hrs of travel time there and back. So u would most likely pay 3 hrs. If u are not an ideal client for the professional forget about it and start dating Fistina.

An hour wouldn't be enough time to unwind and be present after a long drive. I would definitely offer two hours plus $200 for travel. Seems like a lot, but if the escort doesn't know you they'll need some incentive. If you decide to see someone regularly then you could negotiate that down. Perhaps an offer of "if you're ever having a slow night give me a shout." They're not going to drop good local business to travel without incentive. Same goes for my own line of work.

And the 40 miles - are they easy miles or is it slow and windy like LA or SF? That's also a factor. If it's a 30 minute trip then I would offer $100 extra.

Maybe easier to visit the escort first (if he does incalls) so both of you have a comfort level before you uber/invite him to your place.

Probably cheaper to rent a hotel room downtown and treat yourself to a "night on the town" (VS paying for travel time etc). You can get some good last-minute deals on hotwire and other sites.
