In addition to the excellent advice of @azdr0710, you might want to post your travel dates here and see if you can meet up with an experienced Montreal visitor while you're there. That can be very helpful for a first-timer.

One thing I had not heard before my first visit to à Montréal gay strip club: apparently it’s considered rude or lame to have only one song’s worth of private dance with a guy. So now I usually do at least 2 if I go back with one of them, and I try to make sure that I’ve seen them in action on stage &/or talked with them enough to know that it will probably be worth it :-)

I don't think it's rude to have only one song with a guy. You're just letting him know that you didn't like it. The dancer won't be happy but who cares? It's YOUR money.

Perhaps the lap dance is not what you expected, the dancer is having a bad night, or the chemistry is just not there. Don't let this ruin your night, and don't waste money and mental energy trying to correct it. Just end the dance at the end of the song, thank them, and move on...

I have stopped doing a lap dance a few times after just one song. Not a big deal at all.... just wasn't clicking and simple as that. $20 for 4 minutes of work ... not too shabby for the dancer. One dance is better than none after all.

I am hoping to go this Friday night if I can swing it.
