Assuming you (OP) mean a brothel club with wet and dry heat area, snack and bev amenities, stage shows, and lads for hire. Common misnomer is "sauna" for "sauna with boys". Otherwise, there are also more conventional venues we typically call bathouses, "the baths", or "the tubs" ... called "saunas" or "thermas" (without commercial sex) in Brasil.

The brothel names contain the word clube, sauna, or thermas. You will catch on reading the suggested threads, and which is which. They are not called brothels (bordels) so that the notion of formal commercial sex brokering can be skirted, but they are, functionally, brothels. And apart from the labels, not to be missed!

Isn’t usually a brothel a place where the sex workers work directly for the owner of the place, or at least give a cut to the management of the place? This is not the case in Brazil, the boys are all each independent businessmen doing their business in a place where the management approves of such activity (they approve because they can charge everyone an entrance fee), but the management does not get paid by the client when the client chooses a sex worker, and does not get a cut on the sex worker’s fee.

Sometimes, perhaps even commonly in some places or cases, but technically not necessarily.

I am not on a mission to alter wording in Brasil, but just prefer to have a term that distinguishes between two categories. And if your assertion (query) were true, then they would qualify as bordellos since the garotos do pay a utilization fee and produce formal ID to the house. In some straight-geared establishments the total flat-rate is paid the house.

Sorry, do not know what happened here ... my section commences with "Sometimes ..."

I went to a couple but I definitely went to Club 117. I hope it is still open. It was great if only because the variety of guys when I went was staggering. Not everyone spoke English but everyone made do as everyone sort of knew what everyone else wanted. As discussed in other parts of the Forum, Brazil in particular mixes orientations that are more than willing to do what you would like with no reluctance. I also liked the great mix of various shades of guys that mirrored the Brazilian population. The place was clean and everyone was friendly. I went a couple of times and would go back in a heartbeat. Just take your time in the beginning so you will pick out exactly what you want. I have no doubt you will be like a kid in a candy store.

Share your experience, if you'd be so kind.

In 1998 or '99--Trilingual posted the first at this site regarding the saunas (bath houses) in Rio de janeiro. Others and my interest piqued. By 2002 I made my first journey to my now favorite city (but highly tainted right now regarding its politics) and enjoyed the culture and the people, especially the men. There were four or five saunas that had guys who expected a fee. I enjoyed and continued to return until 2011.

For a lot of recent and specific info., go to www.boytoy.com-- read the current material as well as what's in the archives. You can also do an archival check here as well and read our past posts!

I do hope to return to "Mother Brasil" one of these days. It's fabulous in many ways, none less that its initial, natural beauty!

Thank again, for the input. I've lived in San Francisco now for 20+ years and I used to see a lot more Brazilians, not so many now. I'd love to visit Brazil someday.

Go, Go, Go, Go, Go..... One of the things that I recommend (it has nothing to do with a bathhouse) is to land in Sao Paulo and drive along the coast to Rio. Sao Paulo is a megalopolis and great to see just for that fact. It is about 6 or 7 hours from Sao Paulo to Rio if I remember correctly but it is nice to stop off and stay in beach towns along the way. There are of course many other cities to visit in Brazil, like Salvador Bahia and Brasilia, the capital. Brasilia is a modern architectural feast. Salvador (and others) are cities from the 1600s so plenty of beautiful buildings. You can drive to Salvador but it takes about 24 hours so it is probably best to fly. However, the beaches just north of the city are well worth the trip (as well as the architecture, of course). And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

The cities most targetted for their bordels, clubs with sauna/steam, beverage/bites, and amazing onsite men for hire, are São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador Bahia, and Porto Alegre. Those venues in Curitiba, Florianopolis, Fortaleza, Brasilia, and Belo Horizonte are less awe-inspiring but may yield some succsex.
