I've hired a traveling guy only once, someone well-reviewed. The encounter was lackluster -- by-the-numbers and assembly line. With hindsight, perhaps the fact that his business mostly involves travelling should have warned me off (at the time, I somehow thought that was a plus).

 

On the other hand, my email interactions with Anton (for example) convince me that he wouldn't disappoint me, even if he were on an extended trip.

 

Are there any questions to ask or other signs that might help distinguish the travelling escorts who are worth our money from those who aren't? Responses both from escorts who travel and from clients who hire them would be useful.

 

I understand, of course, that one should do all the usual research that one does before hiring any escort. I'm interested in things that are specific to traveling guys.

BUT my Advice Never make an appointment with a Working Guy just off the Plane OR just getting on the Plane. There thoughts are elsewhere!

 

Earlier in the Day will probably guarantee a Hotter time, than Later! There are those Guys who Travel so much, squeeze to many Clients in, mainly to cover the NOW exspensive Travel Overhead!

I haven't hired that many traveling escorts but the ones I have hired when they came to Chicago have been great. In particular, I hired Ross and Derek/NYC, had a great time with both of them and I am eagerly awaiting their next visit here. I usually hire for more than one hour so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Back in the good old days, I found Devon of SF was a great traveling escort with whom to hook up in New York. He seemed able to finance his trips without cramming in too many appointments. I think it was because he was an art fiend and came to NY as much to check out the new museum shows and galleries as to make some money at his favorite sport.

Recently, I thought Steven Draker was an exceptionally fine visitor. I thought the same of Rafael Alencar after connecting with him over the summer, but somebody mentioned recently here in the Message Center that he seems to have settled into NYC for a while, so maybe he doesn't count as a traveler just now.

I am not so sure that time of day has much to do with whether or not a good experience is had with a traveling escort. I have hired a few of the traveling guys passing through DC and several of the locals. It’s been a mixed bag but my most lackluster experiences were with the local guys.

 

Recently, the best of the traveling guys I have had was Steven Draker just a few weeks ago. In the interest of full disclosure it was my review that was recently posted for Steven on 11/15. That was a late evening appointment and believe me Steven was not in the least bit "tired" as some would assert.

 

Devon from SFO was also fantastic and I have to agree with Uwsman2 that he had it down pat. We often chatted about several of the galleries here in town.

 

On the other hand, a while back during one of his travels through DC I hired Brett Holt and it was not what I would have expected from him based on his reviews. It was a session that could have been better but I did not review it because of my travel schedule I did not have time. However, I am going to give Brett another try in the near future just to be fair.

 

So I guess what I am trying to say is it’s a crap shoot anyway. It does not matter if its 9:00 AM or 9:00 PM or 3:00 AM. Some guys are good and some are not and there are a lot of factors that play into the experience no matter the time of day or number on the turnstile.

I'm glad you chimed in, since your comments (in general; not just here) are almost always illuminating and helpful.

 

In this case, what I read between the lines is that hiring an escort who is traveling somewhere specifically to see clients makes it more likely I'll be seeing someone who has scheduled multiple appointments for that day, and therefore (my deduction), is perhaps less likely to meet my expectations.

 

I fully understand the escort's dilemma in this and don't have any perfect solution. Perhaps it's to book in advance before leaving with clients whom your good radar tells you are serious and can be trusted not to cancel in less than an emergency.

 

But let me ask you one more question: is it even possible to travel solely to see clients, not book more appointments per day than you would at home, and still come away with enough profit to make the trip worthwhile?

Anton, As always you make perfect sense. I have not met very many Traveling Working Guys... with NYC being a "Major Market" and I don't have to wait for the Planes to Land! LOL

 

You make a very good point, in that most Guy's, I always assumed had Previous Definite Appointments, Repeat Clients etc, and they would "Line Up Definite's" for their Trip... and any other Appointments during their stay, and FREE TIME.. would be extra cream in their Cafe..ANY Cancellations "would and could" be Cancelled Out as a Workable Loss? This is just Common Sense....

Of course Anton has given you a very intelligent and extensive response.

Personally, I never travel to any city unless I am flown there, have a couple of overnights booked and have a number of possible clients that have asked me about my services beforehand. I never accept one hour appointments, and to be honest, I give preference to overnight, or evening appointments, because I only see one client a day.

 

But also, in the process of booking, I often have people who want to see me that request a date that has been taken. I always ask if it is okay to keep him in stand by, and if the date becomes available, he would be the first contacted. I often get an affirmative response. So I don't have to book several appointments hoping that some will cancell.

 

To answer your question, there is no way an escort can make money taking just few one hour appointments. He is paying expenses in two cities at the same time. And travelling is expensive.

 

My only adivse to ensure a good experience with a travelling escort would be: If you can, book a long session. He will have to sleep, rest, eat and get ready before meeting you. If he is the type that books many clients a day, he will think twice before blowing a juicy overnight. He will want to be stellar. Show him you are serious, and make sure to confirm the session however he wants it to be confirmed. If you help him feel comfortable about his financial stability for that day, I find it difficult to believe that he will be taking one hour clients before meeting you. (Although it could happen) Stick to the recommended travelling escorts that people seem to be happy about, and hope for the best.

Frankly I don't thing there is a solution to the problem of late cancellations. The doctors, dentists, and lawyers, who I know, who charge a late cancellation fee do so only if the cancellantion occurs on the same day as the appointment. That certainly doesn't solve the problem for the traveling escort. Probably the best solution is a variation on Juan's. The escorts might only makes a trip at the request of a single client who bears the travel expenses. The escort can then extend his trip having made arrangements to see additional clients prior to his departure from home. Now if cancellations occur during the second part of the trip the escort still has his round trip travel expense paid.

I for one, and I don't think I am alone, am simply NOT willing to send a traveling escort, with whom I have never spent time, a down payment and then wonder what will happen if he chooses to cancel. This issue along with that of over booking are the two major reasons many of use who hire regularly hesitate to hire those escorts who travel continually.

I haven't had the best luck with traveling escorts or independant ones either. They tend to be flaky and not show up. Even though it costs a bit more, I find using an agency best. The quality and reliability of the boys is better. Further, I have never had a no show through an agency. Lately Chelsea guys has added a few new hot guys and they are always reliable. Gabriel Sinclair has been working out and is hotter tahn ever. I've also met Gabe and Jason G. Both are hot and personable. I was a bit dissapointed with Nicholi. He's still young but (ahem) isn;t holding on to his body so well.

I have a different question,and it might be a little off topic-but only slightly.

If you have a regular fella you see and he offers a trip somwhere,pays your fare and expenses,gets a room with two beds so you have your space at night,and buys your meals,attraction tickets etc...Then would you "show your appriciation"even if it was not part of the deal?

In response to your question about a trip bigguy, I think it never hurts to ask. I know in my personal experience I've had one client who has taken me on a few trips and lowered my rate incredibly (down to about 20% of what it should have been) in those instances.

This is Adrian Hart from Orlando, FL. I can see where clients can have the viewpoint that some traveling escorts may be more concerned about thier income level than the satisfaction of the clients, but from my perspective I totally disagree with the generalization that this might true across the board.

 

Although I have mainly been based in Orlando since starting in this field I have recently started a fairly regular and consistent traveling circuit. I do have costs that I incur and of course the bottom line is that I have to make enough to cover those costs and justify taking the trip. I don't however cram as many clients in as possible. I am way too concerned with providing the best time I can to those that choose to see me. I space my appointments out accordingly and if I am tired or not up to seeing someone I will be up-front with them as opposed to just doing it for the money involved. I may not make as much as I could have but at least I dont leave anyone with a bad impression of me.

 

I realize this is what I do and maybe not what some of the other traveling guys go by, but for the ones that do care about the ever dissapearing aspect of "customer service" in todays society, I had to speak up. This is a business to me but it also involves close personal relationships that you develop with people, and if you want respect you have to give it as well. That's how I work and I know other guys who do the same, so for those who dont trust the idea of a traveling guy I ask that you reconsider any generalized feelings toward this subject.
