Insight, please. I'm heading to ATLANTA.

I'll arrive in Atlanta mid-February. I will need to be in the DC area during the second week of March. In between, I'm planning to go on tour (something I don't usually do). Since it's both literally and figuratively unfamiliar territory to me, I'd love to have some insight - from both escorts and clients alike - who know the area.

The big question: Where would be a good direction/locale for me to go after Atlanta?

I'll have about 8 to 10 days. I guess I'll be flying, because driving at that time of year seems a bit crazy... maybe into snowy or just winter-weathery conditions. So please, consider:

  • I'll book one or two flights before getting to DC around March 3rd... and

  • I am
meaning, I really don't like to be in cold climates*.

If you choose to respond to this, please recognize that I am asking not just to avoid the cold, but also to maximize the opportunity for appointments. I fully admit that I am going into an area of the country where I haven't worked much before (the vast majority of my appointments over the years have been on the USA East and West coasts, plus Chicago, and Europe and Asia), so your advice, or even perspective, would be most helpful.

Thanks,

Dave

I'd suggest looking into Charlotte, N.C., Raleigh-Durham, N.C., and then perhaps some Florida cities: Orlando and Tampa perhaps? New Orleans also comes to mind. I'd be cautious about Nashville. Great city but I've heard it's risky there. If you'd like to mix a little tourism with this, Charleston, S.C., is a very interesting and lovely place. I have no idea what the business opportunity would be there. Atlanta is far away the most active city in the Deep South.

Just know in Atlanta and even more in North Carolina, you could encounter quite cold weather and snow/ice in mid-February. It's not common, but it's not extremely rare either. That's around the time of year we tend to get weather like that. On the hand, you may also arrive in a warm spell and already see flowers coming out prematurely. That happened last year.

You have an almost certain chance of missing snow and ice in NOLA and Florida.
