Wilshire and Century are both non-stop action.

Century has the most attractive guys (including some porn stars and models) and the accompanying creepers.

The last weekend it was basically an orgy in steamroom and one guy ended up slipping. It got way out of control and expect a crackdown very soon -- it happens once every couple months.

Wilshire is a lot more rundown but more minorities (Century is very Weho-esque) and actually more attitude, too.

I second this post. I always felt that Wilshire was very dingy (though I saw a lot of open action in their dirty sleeping room). Century is cleaner and has more space to move around in/explore.

I went to Century Day & Night Spa based on this thread. While there was a lot to look at, there was so much attitude it was insane. I'm not model gorgeous, but I'm in decent shape and have a very large unit, so that got me somewhere, but there was open hostility towards anyone outside the "tolerable" body size, age, or skin color ranges. It was sort of sad. A lot of bitchy boys who think they are too good to go to the gay bathhouse, turning it into a gay bathhouse.

I’m sorry to hear this, but I’d be more than happy to console you.

I'm curious what the open hostility was. Did they just turn you down or were they actively hostile and rude

I never had an issue there, but I understand where you're coming from. However, I don't think a guy is necessarily "bitchy" because he doesn't want to hook up with just anyone who strolls by. I don't want to start a whole controversy here...but, is it so wrong to want to hold out for someone who you're more attracted to?

I mean, you seem to think that your "decent" shape and "very large unit" is or should put you in the game with people looking for "model gorgeous" guys. So you're think in those terms too. Would you have hooked up with someone who is not in decent shape and has a small unit just because they tapped you on the shoulder?

I can't speak to @Ludo's experience, but I only ever saw the typical not interested/ignoring/slash stopping the action if someone people weren't interesting in either tried to join in or hovered to stare.

I agree and a lot of men get mad (calling them bitchy, shallow, etc.) at the "model gorgeous" guys for not being into them... but look at it from their perspective. At least there's money to sway a decent portion of them.

I alluded to this in other threads, but it was at Century I received a lot of racial hostility.

Any time I would enter the steamroom or clay sauna, guys would get up and leave.

Once, when the room was very steamy, I heard a white guy complain about there being "too many Asians." Too many Asians at a Korean spa, of all places. It's totally been taken over my many gay elites who only want to see and hookup with others who meet their standards.

Listen, I totally get when there are creepers who try to join the action or get too close. There's plenty of those of every race. But ALL Asians get put into that category at Century and sometimes at Wilshire.

Usually, I just sit way on the other side of the room and/or close my eyes. I'm lucky if they don't get up and leave. They don't mind when a fit white, Latin or Persian guy enters, but the moment an Asian opens the door, they're out of the room before his ass can hit the bench.

It depressed me to the point that I stopped going for awhile. Now it seems to be a bit better, but things have gotten worse at Wilshire.

THIS is exactly what I was talking about. I wasn't being salty about myself- in fact several of the guys wanted to play with me but I was put off by the fact that they laughed at an older guy and left the steamroom, they literally flocked en masse to the outdoor space and fled as soon as a black guy dared to go out there, and there was more than one occasion where someone told another person they were "being a creep" when ironically what made them a creep was watching while these dudes were jerking off in public. There also seemed to be some serious drug use going on based on some of the behaviors.

And as far as your question @thedanNYC - if I am attracted to someone I'm attracted to them. Sometimes they have big dicks, small dicks, sometimes they are really gorgeous and other times they are attractive in other ways. The dick wants what the dick wants... but I am never rude, cruel, or forgetful that if I am going to show off my dick in a public place I can't also expect to limit the people who get to see it. It's a shared public space, not a private home.

You can limit the people who get to see it by stepping out if you're not comfortable, which is what they did and is not inherently wrong. I do agree that how you do it matters, and there's no need to be cruel about it (or to force others to leave instead of you leaving).

The problem is that's not what happens.

First off, let's remind everyone that these are spas, not sex clubs. I've seen children sometimes at some of the places with their fathers, with what is supposed to be a familial, cultural experience.

Places like Wilshire and Century have been completely overrun by guys looking to hook up. Listen, we're all horny. But to have no discretion at all, and even worse, make fun at those who may be there for the spa experience, is disrespectful and selfish. But that's what these alpha white gays do...they think they own everything.

I saw an older black gentleman struggle with some of the doors at Century, but no one helped him. Then, a Korean patron went into the steamroom and all the guys made very audible sighs or glares at him until he left.

As an Asian person, I have never felt more hostility towards guys of my race than at Korean Spas. That is a real problem.

They're hostile towards Asian guys at a Korean spa? Jeez, what idiots. Though to be fair, super hot Asian guys can give off quite a bit of attitude too. Just the nature of the beast. Of course, in time, all these hot guys will get older, and then younger guys will be giving THEM attitude ;)

Except it's not about "stepping out" after realizing "oops, I'm in the bad here because this space isn't really for engaging in sexual acts".

It was heavy sighs, verbal comments directed to the person that they didn't want looking, and at least one racial slur used to explain that there's a lot more of a certain group who frequents there now, so maybe they need to raise the price.

Everyone is going to have a different experience. Some days will be great and others will be terrible. Sometimes the hottest dude with the biggest cock at one of those places isn't even there to do anything but experience the space for what it is - a public spa facility.

My advice to all the "hot" guys: if you want to go there and you want to be horny and jerk your cock with some other dudes- at least be polite. And maybe even let that guy you aren't attracted to watch. Because some day you may be the old, hairy, fat, disabled one and maybe someone will show some politeness to you. Besides- it's not a sex club. And don't forget- they are holding your photo ID at the front desk. =)

I went here a few weeks ago when LA was having their heat wave. It's not the most modern looking place and the layout is pretty bad. But for $20, it was fine. There was lots of cruising in the steam and sauna areas, but nothing was really happening there, just your usual rubbing of the crotch over the towel. If you want something to happen, you have to go into the sleeping room.
