The "US Open 2005" got off to a great start today. The tournament runs from 8/29-9/11 with 2.2 million in prize money.

Rafael Nadal, the teenage sensation from Spain and #2 seed had an easy win today. Hoping to see another repeat of the Montreal Roger's finals between Nadal and Agassi. Will youth prevail?

Who are some of your favorites?

Can some help with pictures?

Actually Agassi and Nadal would meet in the quarterfinals, if they both make it that far. Nadal is hot and not just as a tennis player. I would guess that the final will be Nadal v. Federer. Marat Safin is the only

other player who seems to be able to beat Federer. Safin, while in the tournament, is recovering from knee surgery. As in the last few years, the womens' draw is more interesting with five or six players who can easily win.

I am going to three day sessions next week, when all the matches will be played in Atrhur Ashe, which is way too big to watch a tennis match. I am impressed by the new BLUE color of the courts,

perhaps that will help to see the ball from the nose bleed section.

The US Open is no place to get up close and personal with any of the male players. The smaller tournaments are great for that. I will never forget one in California where the mens' room doubles as the players'

shower. Nothing is better, tennis wise, than being able to discuss the match with one of the players while he's taking a shower. Contact me if anyone wants more information on that particular tournament!

Perhaps, by I'll definitely take Andy Roddick (or Marat Safin) over this guy anytime!:9

Roddick went out in the first round to another cutie, Gilles Muller from Luxembourg. I used to think Roddick was hot, but not so much anymore.

I love Nadal's new skintight shirts. They should all be required to wear shirts like that.

Long-time lurker here, but this is a topic worth posting for! :p

I think tennis players are some of the hottest athletes out there. My personal favorites: Robby Ginepri and Fernando Gonzalez - both still in it (Ginepri beat Andy Roddick). Not sure if I know how to provide pictures, but I'll try!

GINEPRI:

Ginepri did not beat Roddick (though that's a lovely sexual fantasy)--he beat the guy who beat Roddick, Gilles Muller. I'll watch any match involving Gonzo, who is probably the hairiest guy on the tour.

Yes, you're so right. Thanks for the correction! Ginepri WOULD HAVE beaten Roddick in the second round had they played. When I saw the draw, I really thought that. Ginepri has been playing great all summer, and I knew that Roddick, who I hate, was vulnerable. But you're right, Muller beat Roddick and then lost to Ginepri. If you look at Ginepri's draw, he has a decent shot for the semifinals, where he would play Agassi or Nadal.

And I'd pay lots of money to watch Ginepri beat the crap out of Roddick, and not in tennis.

I saw him in person once and you are right. I really love him - and the way he plays is even hot, he hits the ball harder than anyone else and hits it as hard as he can on every shot.
