I made the decision. I am excited with http://rentboy.pro coming to disrupt the market. Did you see the array of prices in DC.? I am meeting one of the guys tomorrow. I just FaceTimed with him and he is just adorable, and does not advertise in Rentmen.

I would be interested to know why he is not on Rentmen, if you have a chance to ask him. Maybe the RM ad cost is too high?

On price range, from what I can see the prices for NYC seem to be the same as on RentMen, there are a few ads that are cheaper, but not my type, so it hasn’t changed anything yet for me.

This guy used to advertise in the old Rentboy, I never saw his profile again until now. I was told one of the partners is a former Rentboy staff, they probably have that mailing list and are using it to reach out to professionals.

 

Not the case of the boy I am about to meet. He started escorting only three months ago.

I have no idea of what does mean. He did tell me he used to advertise in jock 2 go when he was living in California. Is it a good or a bad thing?

It is for free, what can you lose?

 

I hate jumping through circles to join new sites when rentmen asked me for my ID I didn’t even think I was gonna stock around. I’ll buckel down tomorrow and get myself registered I had forgotten it was still free !

You'd have to weigh

  • dilution of the brand
  • increased spam, phishing and jack-off calls and texts
  • having yet another site to update
  • the annoyance of actually setting up the account and learning a new system
     
  • creating another venue for potential fake negative reviews

against the likelihood of getting enough (any?) work to offset those factors during the free introductory period. Just because it's free doesn't mean there's no cost.

A young escort friend of mine was solicited by this site almost immediately after creating his Rentmen ad. They actually sent him the email through the Rentmen system! :) One of the things they mentioned was that there would be no "bothersome" negative reviews. They've got a long way to go before they'll be a market disruptor, but maybe they'll keep Rentmen on their toes and @latbear4blk already had a good experience, so you never know.

So far my experience with them has been very positive. There was that misunderstanding about assuming Daddy was RM sponsored, but they apologized. They have been very receptive at feedback. I am betting at their success. I want them to kick RM's ass.

If they kick RM's ass then we will be back to one dominant player and in a state of pseudo-monopoly. Perhaps there is room for both to be successful.

Hell, it'd be an improvement if I could search by city. When I try to type in New York, the pull down menu offers Newark, NJ and Tennessee (?!!).

Site looks cheap & amateur compared to RM + not many guys I'm particularly interested in there. I'm sticking with what I know & works for me for now. Maybe give this new site a try a few months or a year from now when it's grown a bit more...
