I have a friend who tried anal each way once way back in the 90s when he was just starting out, without a condom(may have been high or drunk, not sure), was so freaked out about waiting for his HIV test(which turned out negative) that he decided he had already "used up his get out of jail free card" and has never done anal either way since. He sticks to oral and some playing with the ass but no penetration. He is still exclusively gay though.

 

Some people have their hangups about particular activities.

 

I very rarely do anal(like less than 10 times in my life total) and consequently I never really got that good at it, so I don't particularly miss it. Were I in an LTR I suppose I would make the effort to get better at it.

One of the reasons I don't book "straight" escorts is that the restrictions or rules of what we will do is limited and restricted. I never wanted to bottom-and so I haven't. But topping pretty much seems natural to me. I don't claim to be great at it. And sometimes I don't top because 'Mr. Happy' can't get hard enough. But assuming you are hard enough, topping is not really that difficult.

I have some spine issues which as they progress have meant that my erections are not what they were, though still just fine for oral. As I got a late start with sex, by the time I tried anal my topping was simply not that good. If it was one of those bottoms who can open their own hole it was okay, but I couldn't really work my way into anyone who was tight.

I understand totally. I have problems with erectile dysfunction too-probably multifactorial such as age, not being in great shape/vascular issues, and maybe a bit of depression. I almost always use sildenafil (generic Viagra) before trying to top. In some cases I've found a cockring to help. I don't know if you've looked in to trimix injections. I tried it once as a test dose. It made me extremely rigid. But it hurt. It obviously doesn't cause pain to everyone, or it wouldn't be used.
