My guess is you Googled the phone number and saw the search result reading "Crackdown! - escortpolice..." The links takes you to a splash page that reads "404" which means "not found." I took out the phone number from the URL and checked out escortpolice.com. It is a listing of ads. When you click on one of the phone numbers that are supposedly associated with police stings you are taken to an ad that directs you to "Instant Hookups."

To sum it up, "escortpolice" is a directory of female escort ads and this guy's number does not appear on their website.

Yeah... thanks for this. I've seeen this before and never believed it. I wonder how many guys have gotten burned by having their number tagged like this.

I agree but within the Google it states that the number is used by Florida sting operations.

The text displayed with the search result reads "[phone number] OMG WTF? Escort [phone number] is the Sherrif's office! They are doing raids now. [phone number] is one of ..."

Note the word "sheriff" is misspelled. Right below that is a search result about a house that is for sale in New Jersey. When you click that link there is no reference to the phone number.

What I am trying to say is before sounding an alarm on any ad make sure to thoroughly research. That would include clicking on the link (unless, of course, it is "Malware-o-Rama" or some such) to determine whether the information contained in the search result is accurate.

Regarding his answer to your rate inquiry, the topic has been discussed many times before. Almost universally, escorts and clients have stated one should not ask about rates on the first communication. He probably thought you were suspicious and is being evasive so as not to become involved in a sting himself.

It was not our first communication. It was the third. Has you ever had an escort ask you to name your price? Sounds like he was looking to get me to discuss money?

Are you saying that you think this is just a nieve escort?

The police don't have to wait for you to come to them. You offering money over the internet is enough for them to go after you. I learned that on "to catch a predator". At the very least all that text will be used against you in court.

Google has not been a reliable source for phone number lookups for quite some time. Most hits on Google phone number searches lead to bogus portals. It's tough to figure out the purpose of the Escortpolice site. It looks like it might be a way for johns to report sting experiences with escort ads. It also looks like it might be a site that scrapes ads from Backpage, uses them to get hits on Google and other search engines, and lures you to other ads.

With all the google phone numbers, I find it strange that his leads to a "anti-escort" site. Most numbers lead to nothing.

A lot of phone numbers posted to Backpage end up on a half-dozen pages that exploit the information. Some just repost the escort ad and provide a link to an A4A type site. I haven't quite figured out Escortpolice, but either clients are posting ads from escorts or the site is stealing ads from Backpage.

I don't know how reliable this post from "ripoffreport" is, but it provides this description:

EscortPolice.com is a scam site used to advertise for memberships to the websites EasySex.com, AdultFriendfinder.com and TheEroticReview.com. They copy and paste numbers from backpage ads as well as pictures. It's a total bait-and-switch. Once a user clicks on the offensive and scary police alert listing from any search engine, they are brought to a page that contains a copy of an ad. After the user clicks on the link for more information on the Police Results on the EscortPolice.com page, you will be redirected to one of their affiliate sites ( TheErotiReview.com; EasySex.com; Adultfriendfinder.com) since no Police records for the number, bp ad or entertainer is even listed on the site. There is a 24-hour removal request link on the site for everyone that has been grossly misrepresented on EscortPolice.com, however, requests go unseen and unprocessed. This website's marketing strategy is not only slimy it is also extremely dishonest, in addition to being a complete ripoff.
