My first PrEP side effect?

I am in my third month of Truvada, and never felt any changes. I was specially curious about one of the side effects a couple of friends here shared, "weird dreams".

 

Last night I dreamt I was eating someone's ass (I cannot remember who I was with) and I found shit. Far away from stopping, not only I kept sucking the dark material, but I started kissing my lover's butt leaving they all decorated with nasty chocolate kiss stamps. And we laughed together. I remember pretty clearly the colors and the taste, I do not remember any smells.

 

I am not into scat, I have never been, although as a devoted ass eater I have often found unpleasant surprises.

 

In my book, that qualifies as a weird dream.

During my first month or so several years ago

 

1. It was the week before Christmas. I was traveling to spend 3 or 4 days with an escort over the Christmas holidays. I was leaving midmorning. My house was a mess and I had a lot of washing to do prior to the trip. I ended up staying up all night. At about 3 or 4 in the morning I broke out into a cold sweat and started feeling dizzy. I've had problems with vertigo before, and this seemed a lot like previous attacks. As regards the trip, I was able to change my flight for a later one. I got some sleep for about 7 hours and felt much better. I don't know for sure that Truvada totally caused my symptoms. But I don't think it helped because...

 

2. I think for the first month or so I was on Truvada I felt vaguely nauseous. It wasn't horrible, but it did persist about a month.

 

3. I dream from time to time anyway. My dreams semi-frequently have people I know in real life in them. I might have had a slight increase in memorable dreams when I first started Truvada. But it would be difficult to tell as I go through periods where I dream more often.

I wouldn't read too much meaning into the content - you will likely have similarly odd non-erotic dreams, doesn't mean your life is coming unraveled. While unsettling at first, try to learn to enjoy the oddity of it all, also the dreams seem to go away after awhile. Best,
