I'm planning my second DC trip for early November. I stayed up at Wardman Park last time, which I enjoyed, though it was a ways from city center. I'm looking at the Hyatt Place near the capital, cause there's a really good rate at the moment. I've stayed in a Hyatt Place before and really liked it. Any feedback on this particular one, as well as location?

Thanks!

Lance

In DC we have as many Hyatt hotels as Trump relatives in the White House. Just Hyatt Place, that I know, we have three. Which one you are looking at?

I guess you meant near the capitol. That location is easy to reach from anyplace in the city, it is even a few blocks away from a Metro Station. Parking is a head ache, but I guess your clients would uber to you.

Just a piece of advice. Before booking, ask them whether the elevators need a key to function. Many 3 stars hotels in DC have that system, and it is very annoying.

Oh, I was talking about another one in my previous post, but my comments also apply to that location, with an additional warning. That location is really close to the mall, make sure your visit does not coincide with any big event that is going to mess up access to the area.

Looked through the TripAdvisor reviews and someone made mention that the elevators do require a card. That's not a deal breaker, but it is annoying and might be uncomfortable for some, so I'm gonna look at other properties. Thanks!

Check those two hotels. I have no idea of the prices, but some of your colleagues recommend them. I specially love the first one, a monumental building and huge rooms with amazing views if you are lucky, from the first decades of the XX century, I guess. I have been there a couple of times and the rooms are very private and solid. I did not care about being noisy. It is in a nice neighborhood but parking may be challenging, your clients should uber to you.

The second one is very convenient and, I understand, affordable. It is located inside Gallaudet University campus, a short walk away from the free parking lot. But it is just a regular 3 stars hotel. The rooms are clean and standard, but I did have the feeling that we could be heard through the walls. The bed was very noisy.

Just to give you some input that you won't probably find in Trip Advisor.

Perfect location in Dupont, close to the clients in both Dupont and Logan. Needs a key to get up to floors, but there are rooms on the first floor, so just request one of those. I've seen many escorts here. Nice spot.

Recently renovated.... this is the PERFECT location in the heart of the gay areas. Right on 14th Street for gym and restaurants....really can't be beat on location.

Brand new hotel, in Shaw, very close to Logan. Great location, also close to a grocery store and lots of restaurants.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll keep an eye on them, in case the rates drop, but right now they are all over $300/night, which exceeds my budget

The mason also seems to be quite "friendly". Several masseurs and or escort stay there. I had an appointment there jsut today, and swear I saw an escort walk in.

I like the Omni as well, it's close by a metrorail stop, since I try to avoid city traffic, and the sheer size and volume of people means it's easy to blend in.
