Sometimes it also takes seeing film instead of stills. I didn't understand Channing Tatum's appeal before seeing Magic Mike (by itself, a toned body is no big deal to me, and facially he's odd-looking) or Michael Fassbender's appeal before seeing Shame. (And it wasn't all due to his impressive cock, either.)
