The newness of it all will subside, and you will begin to learn more of what you want in a meeting (Ha, listen to me talk like I have a whole hell of a lot of experience...not !!).

 

I've kept track. My first hire was only in May 2015, then I was a kid in a candy store. Jun, Aug, Sept, Nov, Dec. 2016 slowed down to Jan, Feb, Apr, Jun, Oct. This year, only Feb, and May. However, but for schedules, and some other stuff, I probably would have hired at least one other time already this year.

 

I find drinking only makes me want to hire more.

You definitely need to think carefully about how much you spend on it if you are not very well-heeled. You could say "I will spend no more than $X per day for all forms of entertainment" where entertainment included things like eating out and movies. Then each day you spend less than $X put that cash in an envelope and don't do anything that requires more money than is in that envelope....

There was a time when I binged, but as I became less young and the onset of tattoos and piercings along with current price points, not so much anymore.

Wow, thanks for bringing this up. Years back when I was having troubles with my life saying, gee I'm spending money for pleasure, is that right?? And I actually calculated how much per year which then exceeded $20,000 but included vacation time with someone. I still think about it every weekend as I think what fun I want to have. Now I'm not a weird out of the spectrum type of guy; actually the opposite. But I enjoy being with someone that will be nice to me. And yup, have often looked Sunday night and said, holy what did I do.

I'm not sure if addictive is the right word, but I have certainly been impulsive at times. I know what I can afford each month without shorting something else, but that hasn't stopped me from doing it on several occasions. Nothing serious and I can't say that I really have any regrets.

 

However, unless you are dead inside, you are eventually going to run into a guy that just gets under your skin and you feel more than you should. That's when you can get into some serious financial trouble.

There's no question that this hobby can be addictive, and I guess I'm guilty of over-indulging. Considering some of my (straight and other) friends spend mucho dollars on golf vacations to Myrtle Beach, gambling vacations in Vegas or Indian Casinos around the country, muscle cars, antiques, and so forth, we end up spending similar amounts of money. All said and done, I enjoy my "hobby" so if it's an addiction, it's one of many I could have been saddled with, but this one "saddled" me. I'm cool with it!

I think it starts as a hobby, but quickly turns into an addiction. You should not put yourself into financial ruin just to hire.... If you have the disposable income, Indulge.

Good advice. Luckily, I'm comfortable enough financially to indulge my vice. Of course I don't drink, do drugs, I drive leased cars and live within my means in all other things so I feel I can splurge on this without guilt. I DO watch the bottom line so once in a while I'll rein it in a bit.

I guess, like anything else in life, its all about Priorities ? I have always been lucky enough to find satisfying sex without paying. However, on special occassions I will treat myself to something XXL, because these guys usually dont show up randomly. They know their value to the marketplace, and I like to support the economy sometimes.

I liked the comment about I don't golf, belong to a country club, etc, etc; me either so if I put it in perspective maybe spending my discretionary dollars the way I do isn't that bad. But I often think about it. However still looking for fun..thanks

The gay guys into heavier guys seem to work on getting heavier themselves. Buff bi guys in my experience seem more into me on average when I'm huskier. Though maybe it's a fetish thing, I've been told I give off a cop vibe.

I was responding to the middle of the post I was quoting. He seemed to be saying he was on the heavy side and isn't finding "free" partners. But if one of your requirements in a "free" partner is they not be in a relationship, you might be SOL because in my experience the guys who like heavier guys (and are themselves NOT heavy) are more likely to be married to women.

I think it can flip back and forth. A hobby at times - perfectly in control and fun. And addictive at others. I agree with MikeyGmin - the addictive part usually driven by a a particular provider that captures your imagination. Happy to have more of a private conversation if you're interested.

I used to throw caution to the wind and hire away like crazy. Nowadays I'm more discerning. I like a guy who can massage with a very happy ending afterward. $300 is the limit and for that price they better be the fantasy in the flesh. I see these guys who charge $500 and above. I think to myself, who the hell pays that? That's ridiculous for an hour. I almost hired for a weekend but if I don't like the guy I couldn't stand the idea of being stuck for two days and paying for the guys food, travel or anything else. Addictive...yes...until the real bills need to be paid and until you realize how much you have to work to get that money back in your account. I haven't had to shake my ass for cash yet.
