I was actually in Moscow for a few days of biz just a few weeks ago......truthfully, I was so leery of many / most of the Moscow RM ads being fakes (or worse, dangerous to attempt to engage) - I hired one of my "regular" travel companions from London to accompany me...(I was in London for biz before Moscow).....as a side note, we had no problems with anybody sticking their noses into our business regarding our king-bedded suite at a 5star hotel....I did my biz during the few days / he did sightseeing/shopping/gym/etc during his days.....we enjoyed each other each night.....for me, for that trip, these arrangements worked well.

In knowing the political climate of Russia and all of the anti-gay sentiment that has been espoused, I'd be quite loath to hire. Although it would probably be hot, my return to my home country would be far too paramount for me.

 

In 1977 and 1990, I was in Moscow and St Petersburg. ...did NOT have any sexual encounters but was really wanting to have one while in the latter. ...was on a tour but stayed in apartments. My roommate and I encountered two hot studs who were outside of our apartment selling t shirts if my memory is correct. I truly fancied one of the guys who was a Rob Lowe look-a-like; I'd wanted to have invited him upstairs and jumped his hot bones-- but shyness prevailed. I, to this day, believe that they'd wanted to meet us in our apartment, for when we returned after being away, my roommate saw one or both of the guys out and shared with me that the guy who I fancied had asked about me and sent his regards. Well, that is what fantasies are made of, I presume and will just hang on to this memory!

Moscow and St Petersburg are the liberal cities in Russia and there are plenty of gays. If you stay in a high-end hotel, you won’t have any issues. If you’re prominent and they can get kompromat on you, then stay chaste.

i have been to moscow and i can tell you that everything is monitored there and hiring an escort and anything that is gay related is a risky game there. just don't do it. not saying u will get arrested but if you have financial security, then certainly u could become a target for extortion. fool around if you must but dont let it involve money. OR pay for someone you already know from outside russia to come visit you. OR just wait til you get home. THAT's my advice to you. not ALL pretty shiney objects are worth having.

I would advise strongly against doing anything in Russia that could lead to you being compromised.

 

It may sound like something out of a James Bond movie, but it's known that the major hotels in Moscow are bugged. Luring people into honey traps to gather potential Kompromat is standard practise.

I hate to come off biased but I am reluctant to meet with russian companions outside of Russia as well. Maybe I watch too many movie like Eastern Promises but the concern always sticks in the back of my head; I know I am stereotyping but I am very risk averse...

I would fly from NY, so a few days early, hire the best of the best....then go to Russia and keep it zipped. We forget, it's not an exotic state in the east...it Russia. I've been, its great, but I slept alone for 5 nightd
