Hi, I Am not sure if should be posting here, but

I have read that with windows 10 , using windows defender , i do not need a anti-virus program?

We i just purchase a small dell laptop, It came with trial Mcafee virus installed.

So i set up windows and windows defender. We defender , partially installed, it reads since Mcafee is installed, it will not let defender install

So is this just a so Dell just doing this so i will have to pay for Mcafee and they get a kick back?

I am not tech literate and cannot answer your question.

What I do know is that McAfee, Windows Defender, and Norton they all failed to protect my computers in the past. About 6 years ago I switched to System Mechanic Pro, and all my problems were fixed. Not only it protects you against viruses, malware, etc,, but also maintains your system optimized. And it is cheaper than the more famous companies.

If you run a Google search with something like "Windows 10 will not work with other antivirus software" or something similar, you will find that everybody using Windows 10 has the same issue, including me. Windows Defender deactivated on my Dell laptop when it detected my installation of Norton antivirus software.

The thing about anti-virus (Norton, MacAfee, Kaspersky, Windows Defender, etc.) is that you can only ever run one at a time. They clobber each other if you try to run more than one of them. If you want to run Windows Defender you must first uninstall whatever is already installed.

It doesn't much matter which one you choose. Pick one. Keep it current. And be smart about the things you click on. None of them are perfect.
