Didnt offend me.

And, it is very American that some negative, outraged response to a movie, enhances box office.

"Oh, I'm so offended! How dare they exploit 9/11! I'll be there opening night so I can share my reactions on Facebook. "

What is so offensive? Yeah, I know, we are supposed to dislike Charlie Sheen. That doesn't make the movie offensive.

The story of the people trapped in elevators in WTC 1 & 2 is interesting and worth exploring, but this looks like exploitative trash. I'm particularly surprised to see Whoopi Goldberg involved with such a project. The brief sequence of the high tensile steel cables fraying is enough to tell me that this isn't grounded in any reality, and if stories of 9/11 survivors or victims are to be told, they shouldn't be dramatised in this manner.

Maybe it's me... but at the beginning of the trailer I thought the movie would be more like "Scary movie", somehow I can't picture him anymore in a serious movie and I see him as a comedian only.

I don't think it's offensive.... it's only that I just can't picture him in that role.

July 20th of this year was the 48th anniversary of the moon landing. I had a meeting with some people in their 20s and I discussed memories of the moon landing and how vivid those memories are. They are as vivid as my memories of Kennedy assassination, Challenger explosion and of course 9/11. While for me, I have not desire to further enhance my memories of the horrible event which was 9/11, I think a well done movie is needed to bring greater insight to those under 25 who have few or no memories of that day. I do not think the significance of that day should be left in the hands of schlock directors. I hope this movie is not as bad as the trailer would have me believe.

This isn't directed at anyone who has posted in this thread, but is directed to those who are so highly offended they pronounced the Lord as being dead.

The great thing about our country is we are free to not see movies that offend our sensibilities.

Charlie Sheen appears to be a minor part; I'm going go see to see Whoopi do her thing and do it well. It would appear to be a well thought out treatment on a horrendous event.
