Local of course. Guys who come into town for a few days no matter how hot they are really don't have it all when they see u in such a compresssd time. I learned that years ago. I have on occasion had some good results but for the most part it makes much better to see your local man.

Local for sure. I don't think I've hired any visiting providers. Of course, I've hired those local to the city I'm visiting.

I used to think visitor, so there would be no awkward experience of seeing a local guy in the course of everyday life. Plus, more often, they are at a hotel that makes it easier for parking if commuting into the city. The down side is visitors are hard to schedule if they have a large following, but I've been lucky a couple of times.

 

If the visitor is at an airbnb, he's just like a local logistic-wise. Difficult to find parking if in the city, and may or may not find a place catch a pre-meeting drink to relax since I usually get on the road early in case traffic is bad.

I was once sandwiched between two other clients (the appointments - not clients themselves. That's the "multitasking experience".) At the front end of my 2 hour session I stepped on a used condom after cooling my heels in the hotel lobby and on the back end I was shuffled out 15 minutes early because another client was cooling his heels downstairs.

Fortunately I think the true professionals recognize the risk and successfully avoid it.

LOL. That never happened to me, but I have heard similar stories. Even when the best ones in the craft pace their appointments in a wiser way, they do see several clients in one day, otherwise the trip is not financially savvy.

I would have said I have no preference... but really, this forum is the first time I ever considered it.

 

A significant portion of my hiring occurred when I was travelling - either for business, or to visit the city where I was raised. I think most of my hires were locals.

 

I never realized it until right now, but the majority of my SF Bay Area hires were visitors. SF just never seemed to have many of the types I like... Also, if I think through my bad experiences, all but one were locals.

 

One attribute of the travellers... its more likely they're pros, experienced and committed to escorting. The locals can include a guy who tries hanging out his shingle, without being certain or committed, or even aware of all the challenges.

 

I occassionally had some high volume frustrations.... overbooking, fatigue, etc. But, there were some guys who would visit here regularly, and after an initial hour appointment... subsequent sessions were overnights or longer. They'd tell me they were planning to come to town.... they liked that I filled a significant chunk of their schedule up front.

Local, also. I much prefer enjoying someone who has only me that day or one other person at the most. I try to pick a day of the week that I think will be slow - though, of course, one never knows. As noted above, if I get to like someone I tend to make the person a "one and only."
