If you're looking for a movie to see this weekend, I would HIGHLY recommend "Crash"

Saw it today and was rivited - probably the best movie I've seen in years. (IMHO)

Didn't the Canadian filmmaker David Kronenburg (sp?) make a movie with the same title "Crash" a few years ago, which won at The Cannes Film Festival? I have read reviews about this new "Crash" and understand it was directed (and written?) by a Canadian. I just wondered why he would use the same title? Seems a little unimaginative. And isn't there any copyright in film titles?

David Cronenberg did another "Crash" a few years back and there is

no copyright for titles.

The Don Cheadle character in the new "Crash" states theme early...

sometimes the only time we feel anything is when we crash into

something else. Film deals with car crashes, culture crashes,

marital crashes, etc.

I liked it a lot but felt it was all a little too neat and started

pushing buttons by the end. Very much like Altman's "Short Cuts"

and a very good, underestimated film "Grand Canyon" directed by

Lawrence Kasdan.

My favorite movie out there now is Agnes Jaoui's "Look At Me"

from France. It's about a self-obsessed "literary star" and father

who's oblivious to his impact on the people around him.

Also saw Greg Araki's "Mysterious Skin" yesterday and it's worth

a look. Story about the impact of childhood sexual abuse.

Always knew I should avoid Little League and those coaches.

I've always had a crush on Ryan Phillippe and would go to this movie just to see him. Does he have much of a role? How does he look?

It's a big ensemble cast, basically all supporting roles with the main character being time. Decent film not amazing, but definitely worth seeing and supporting, provokes a range of emotions, including humor.

"How does Ryan look?" That's a funny question after viewing the movie. It's not one of those films where you notice those characteristics.

Ryan looks just fine. He still has those adorable lips.

One might be advised to read some reviews before seeing the movie. Both th LA and the NY Times were pretty harsh in their criticism of this movie, which I liked anyway.

I've seen Ryan looking hotter than he does in this one. But I thought Matt Dillon looked too sexy for words!

The NYT reviewer hated it - but who cares. I thought it was a fine movie. Maybe the last 5 minutes could have been improven upon but all in all I was excited by it.

Love those "professional" critcs who couldn't write, cast or direct a film if their life depended on it but think they are all knowing once they plink their fat ass down in a theatre seat!

I've yet to see this movie and I'm very much looking forward to seeing " Crash " on the big screen sometime soon.

Also by the same token, I'm looking forward to seeing Ridley Scott's epic piece " The Kingdom Of Heaven ". I really dont care much for Orlando Bloom as a performer. He certainly couldn't act his way out of a cardboard box even if he tried hard. I find Orlando Bloom just about as boring as that Aussie actor Sam Neil. Jeremy Irons is definitely worth watching as an actor on screen. First of all, nowadays no one seems to have the desire in Hollywood to make historical films anymore. Especially after last years lacklusters, Troy and Alexander. To Ridley Scott's great credit, he took a chance and made an epic quality movie. Along those lines, from my point of view, historical films and Shakespeare dramas definitely play up to the strengths of a performer like Jeremy Irons. I always like to lumber him with Alan Rickman, when given the right material to work from, they absolutely shine brilliantly and literally operate from strength to strength.

In a previous there was a mention of " Crash " as being the best film released so far at this junction in time. For me there have been two movies that definitely captured my heart and attention. " Millions " is a wonderfully done film. A film such as " Millions " for the most part has been ignored my most movie goers. It really is a terrible shame. It's very much a family oriented movie and the message is subtle, especially for young kids. The exquisite Danny Boyle sat behind the director's chair for this project.

The other film which I absolutely adored was " Dear Frankie ". I'll spare the details. For what it's worth, the cast are very complimentary to eachother. Also this happens to be another of those family oriented movies that has no appeal to Generation X what so ever. That's all I'm going to say.
