Lately I've been unable to load images that are JPEGs to the site [yes I know I'm loading a link, not the actual image]. I receive a message that it doesn't have an acceptable extension (or words to that effect). The issue has been in Firefox. Not sure what's going on. I assume it's browser related because I have been able to load them successfully from Edge (I haven't experimented with any other browsers). Anyone had similar issues?

I think we'll need more information.

Technically, all you do is include a URL to an image in a post. When do you get your error message? When you paste it in? When you click post?

And what is the exact error message? Can you give an example URL that causes it?

We do not have enough storage space in the server to upload images and videos. Instead, we imbed in our posts the URL that links to them. Use the little icons on top of the message box to do it. You can see both icons immediately to the right of the smiley.

Deej,

As I keep fiddling around and finding more work-arounds, this is becoming nothing more than a mild inconvenience. Because it occurred with one browser but not another, I assumed it was a browser issue and not one with the forum software, and posed the question here more out of curiosity.

The background is that I had in the past right clicked on an image, selected 'Copy Image' then clicked Ctrl V in the body of a new forum post. Then at some stage about a week back I started to get this message appear in a pop-up box (It's a forum specific box, not a general Windows one):

The following error occurred:

The uploaded file does not have an allowed extension.

The error message happened when I attempted to paste the image in the new post (ie not when I clicked post). As I said, it happened in Firefox but the same action worked when I tried it in Edge, so it appears to me to be an issue with how Firefox presents the image to your software, not an issue with the image file itself or with the forum software.

Just now I tried it again with an image from Twitter, same issue. Selecting 'Copy Image Location' rather than 'Copy Image' and this is the URL: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DAU8VjVUMAAHBUA.jpg

Now, another wrinkle, I just used that URL and instead of Ctrl V I used the image button in the tool bar and pasted the URL in that, and it worked.

You should never be able to upload a JPG. We don't allow it.

This is more of a curiosity and not a problem I'm having. From time to time, I see this .png upload file image on posts by marylander. Don't know if it's a bug in the system or not, or if it's related to anything else that might need looking at, but I thought I'd post it here and just let you guys decide.Kellyanne Conway explained!'] [/url]Kellyanne Conway explained!
