Airbnb woes

Hey y'all - I'm wondering if anyone in the escort/porn industries has also had trouble with Airbnb. I had a rental booked in Chicago for a week in July, made the payment, and then a day later, I get a message from Airbnb saying that I violated the Terms of Service. They also said that they are not obligated to explain this termination. SO ANYWAY, I'm fucking pissed, I guess they ran a background check and somehow dug up my escort/porn stuff? I don't have any legal dirt on my record, so I'm very confused here. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Right, because all sex workers are greedy, entitled assholes o_Oo_O Some of us get off on being kind and respectful and grateful, okayy.

Also, the property I rented in Chicago had a "no other guests" policy, which I intended to honor. I already have a client who has booked me for two overnight outcalls, meaning my trip is basically paid for. I only wanted a place to chill and rest, and somewhere I can cook for myself in order to save money while I'm traveling. But now I guess I'll have to go for the Days Inn. Great.

Just wanted you to aware of that 2 year old thread, and other peoples thoughts.

There's a lot of pearl-clutching in that thread.

And I guess I'm the idiot - just googled my phone number, and my Rentmen profile is the second result. Carry on, everyone.

Some people in the porn business have abused Airbnb properties, and given the "community" they try to foster, owners' fears and opinions seem to matter more. When joining or booking on Airbnb, it's very important to have or use a 2nd number not associated in any way with your stage persona.

Many Airbnb owners also list their properties on the other sites that Benjamin Nicholas posted. You can save money by not using Airbnb, since some of the other sites don't require a site fee.

WELL she's learnt her lesson today, y'all! Drop me a line at my brand new area code in cyberspace: +1 323 509 4930 ;)

.

Hey baby, wait, do you want that new number publicized? The other number is already "tainted" with ties to RM. Why not keep the new number "clean"?

Because I won't use this number for stuff like hotel bookings? Now I'm confused... is my old 207 going to give me trouble in this regard from now on?

I don't know; maybe only ABnB is the only service to cross check numbers but these days who knows

Owners may want to prevent an escort's use (or abuse) of the place, but I suspect there are others out there who rent their place through ABnB type websites knowing full well the renter will be entertaining several guests. I've only once met a visiting guy who did incalls at an apartment/condo, and while the place was not filthy, it was not well maintained. Shower tub needed scrubbing, and couch had stains. Just glad he left the white bedspread on the bed that seemed clean. When I was in another city, and he was there too, I opted for him to do an outcall at my hotel room.

If you uswd your 207 number in your ads its listed online forever. So doing a google search will bring up that ad 20 years from now. And that other number you just posted on here, same story.

Hugs,

Greg

P.S. If you dont want it being dug up dont post it online. My number, sexy time pics and porn are all online and will be till the end of time. But guess what, I dont give a fuck o_O

Yeah FWIW it seems like the originating problem is your prior use of only one number, Nate. (And then once you got a new one, why would you wanna post it in a thread on here?)

Thanks for the link to that other thread, @Oaktown. I've added that to my list of reading to get to eventually. I'm curious in the nearer term though how other escorts do AirBnB in most big markets if doing incalls. It seems to me you'd need to rent the entire house, not just a room, for the sake of privacy. This can get pricey.

In the experience I mentioned above, it was Chicago, and it was a 1 bedroom condo in the Loop. I texted when I arrived, and he came down to meet me and let me through the security door. That's all I know.

Listing your new number on the internet in a thread about Airbnb just defeated the purpose of a new number because now a google search on your new number will bring up your post about bragging how you're as an escort beating the system. Sometimes it's best to keep your mouth shut.

I'm not here to brag or beat any system, I'm here to gain understanding. And you're right, the new number I just posted will be linked to my escort profile... that's the point, right? Of course I don't intend to use it to try and get around a ban from Airbnb. I'm not that dumb.

There are two points in my quoted comments.

First, regardless of where and how you market as an escort, it's well advised to have one number for work and another you give to everyone else for most everything else in life, whether it be UPS or your mother. It seems to me that you perhaps wouldn't be having the AirBnB issue you suspect you're having if you implemented this strategy already. :)

Second, far be it from me to hold myself out as some kind of expert, but there is merit in not posting your number anywhere but in your Rentmen ad. It can cut down on spam and people you don't want finding you from finding you. No where is it written that your signature has to include all means of contact . . . or any at all. Wiser more experienced escorts have advised me: "If people want to find you, they will. Don't over-advertise" (although some might argue I'm violating that second notion with my participation on this forum! Haha.).
