  1. Thanks for sharing this link. I think the trailer is really well done, and the orchestra at the end is a nice touch. Too bad they went for pre-recorded voice tracks, but a fantasy is a fantasy. Will is wearing an extraordinary amount of make-up, and Grace fondly mentions his lipstick. Karen and Jack are true to form. If Max Mutchnick and David Kohan are in charge of the writing, this could be a seriously funny reboot. Seems like the time is right.
  2. Dreary. Kind of reminds me of the food photos you see in many Chinese restaurants. On the other hand, when you live on protein shakes, who needs Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent?
  3. It's official: Delta will pay you up to $9,950 to give up your seat. That's one way to show up the competition and throw dirt in the face of United. TMZ is reporting the following: "United Airlines has just made a big change to its overbooking policy Effective immediately, a passenger cannot be removed to accommodate a United crew member unless it's essential for the crew member to make the flight in order to work another flight, AND the crew member arrives at least 60 minutes before the doors close. The idea is that the airline will make decisions on who to boot from a flight at the gate or lobby area ... before the passengers board the jet. If a crew member arrives less than 60 minutes before the doors close, tough luck ... they have to take a later flight."

  5. I've been hearing from the legal aviation talking heads that the cap is for the benefit and protection of the airline. Supposedly, if an airline wishes to increase the cap, there isn't a lawmaker anywhere who would disapprove of it. So if United wanted to offer more, it doesn't sound like there would be a penalty associated with that decision.
  6. A "round-the-world" ticket would not have been necessary. A single business class ticket from NYC to LAX, if purchased today on United, would cost $3900. Imagine what the reaction would have been if United offered four $3900 vouchers. Imagine what the reaction would have been if United offered cash in any amount $1000 and up. Not only are they losing millions now, wait until the lawyers get finished with United. This catastrophe is going to linger for awhile.
  7. @Becket I agree. Americans have short memories. All they care about is low price. The Asian market, that's an entirely different issue, and it's going to hurt. I don't see how United's CEO survives this. This entire blunder could have been so easily avoided. United never offered to pay 4 passengers the maximum amount possible, which is $1300 per passenger. I'm sure they could have gotten authority to pay more. Every passenger has a price for giving up his seat. What could have cost a mere $5000 and no YouTube video, is now going to cost hundreds of millions and a video that will last forever.
  8. Not all airlines overbook. United Airlines' CEO deserves to lose his job. The stock took a dive today. This company is going to seriously pay for this outrageous mistake. And to think all of it could have been avoided by raising the ask price to the max of $3,000, if not higher. Edit: Sorry, United's highest price for passenger bumping is $1,300. That's what I meant to write.
  9. I do not agree with most of what escortrod wrote. Lily Tomlin's face does not equal the amount of work Joan Rivers had done to hers. If you remove Lily's Frankie hippy wig and that HD makeup these actresses feel forced to wear, Lily looks remarkable at age 77. There are plenty of current, candid photos of her on the internet, and she looks fantastic and quite "natural." I saw her recently on a talk show promoting Grace and Frankie, and there was no evidence of that typical pulled and Botoxed look. The show's lighting is also an issue. IMO, the children on this series are the most cartoonish. The show is not the best thing on television I've ever seen, but I do enjoy the talents of all the leads, so I watch with pleasure, mostly. http://a.abcnews.com/images/Entertainment/GTY_tomlin_fonda_jef_140319_16x9_992.jpg
  10. Experience has taught me that a cash business requires a more open attitude towards dealing with money. My business accepts cash payments, especially for actor headshots, and I can't tell you how many mistakes have been made through the years. Most have been honest mistakes, while others have been questionable. Some people have awful intentions. No service provider should be forced to endure a human counting error, especially when his pay gets cut as a result. Out of respect for people who don't know any better, if I hand someone an envelope of bills, I specifically ask them to count them in front of me. This immediately dissolves any potential for discomfort.
  11. Someone may come along and offer a more current perspective, but I believe it is the largest resort of its kind. Plenty of men who prefer to be naked. Early April is very busy for PS. Rooms at CCBC used to sell out if you didn't reserve far enough in advance. I don't know what their business is like these days. Back in the early 80's, the age range of the guests varied fairly equally. The last time I visited, several years ago, the crowd had changed. CCBC is located in Cathedral City, which is PS's neighboring city. It's not quite the same vibe as the Warm Sands area of PS.
  12. Yes there are. Discretion varies from place to place. I've watched and sometimes photographed full-on sex at Helios, CCBC, All Worlds, Vista Grande, Canyon Club, and Inn Exile. I've observed more discreet sex at other places that mostly ended up moving into a room. It's been a long time since I photographed or visited one of those resorts, so I can't speak to current policy. Many of the places have new owners or no longer are in business. A simple email or phone call to any of the current clothing-optional resorts will yield answers to any questions. But honestly, if you simply compare websites, like CCBC to Hacienda, you can easily tell which hotel encourages open sex and which hotel does not. It's not that difficult to figure out. CCBC is probably the most famous bathhouse style resort. It has survived several decades. They have all sorts of outdoor spaces to play. They even offer a map. Many guests leave their room doors open for visitors to come and go as they please, much like a bathhouse. CCBC was always much busier than the former bathhouse ever was.
  13. "Nicest" sure is a relative adjective. The Pura Vida hotel shared its coveted Five Palm rating with the Hacienda, but now that resort is closed. "Nice" doesn't necessarily mean smartly run or successful. The "2013 Man About World" graph in the linked article seems kind of useless to me. 2013 was a long time ago, and nobody who understands the gay resort scene in the desert would ever judge a gay hotel by one visit. Experienced readers are free to tell me I'm wrong, but I think each gay resort in PS has a personality. Not only the personality provided by the owners and their staff, but also the clientele of each hotel. Personality can change on a dime from day to day, week to week, depending on who is checking in and checking out. The best advice about the gay hotel experience in Palm Springs probably comes from repeat visitors who return year after year, especially the visitors who have tried more than one hotel to determine their favorite. The Hacienda Hotel is owned and operated by a successful PS realtor. Their team creates a special experience and they deserve a lot of credit. The Hacienda only has 10 rooms, but they are the best decorated rooms of any gay resort in PS, IMO. By best decorated, I mean the most luxurious and designed from a 1st class decorator's perspective. The Hacienda is also the most expensive gay resort in PS. Their lowest priced room in high season is the Patio Room @ $260 a night. Some of their other rooms climb toward $400 a night. At these prices, the place is certainly no bathhouse, and the owners expect other guests to behave appropriately. I'm not saying the place has no sexual energy, but the limitations are set by default. I don't know what their policy is regarding outside visitors. When I was stayed there, I wasn't alone, and we weren't interested in outside companionship. We thought the resort was perfect for married couples or lovers. The Hacienda is also a flat property, meaning all the rooms are ranch style, on the ground floor. Their view of the mountainscape is similar to many other properties in PS. Also, the Hacienda has 2 pools, but with only 10 rooms, you can often find yourself alone at a pool, or asking yourself, "I wonder which pool will have more people today?" If you're looking for silence and seclusion, this can be a terrific resort. As a single guy who often travels alone, I prefer more eye candy.
  14. Wow. No shortage of negativity here. The brilliance of Will and Grace was simple - 4 actors with great chemistry delivering funny and sometimes outrageous one liners, all directed by the great James Burrows. When they were on, they were amazing. When they weren't, viewers rolled their eyes and nodded off to sleep. This group is perfect to have another go at more biting writing. I loved the votehoney video. Clearly, they're up and primed for a reunion. I'm looking forward to it.
  15. It's difficult to believe that a professional, classical musician in NYC would show a clear photo of his face, the equivalent of an 8x10, in an escort ad. That is not something you encounter often for obvious reasons. If the ad isn't fake and the writer is speaking his truth, and is responsible for both ads posted, and the face photo is accurate, then the guy has balls and I'd take a chance on him if he were my type. There are many artists who struggle to earn a living. This may be an opportunity to provide some philanthropic assistance, no matter how well he plays Mozart on your glutes.
  16. This thread kind of proves the better looking you are, especially in a Speedo, the easier the judgment, the quicker the forgiveness. He slandered the host country during one of the world's most important international events and used a stereotype to support his lie. On top of that, he disgraced his teammates and his country. He gave credence to the pejorative "ugly American." In the end, none of it was necessary. I'm not sure how any of you define stupid and selfish, but…
  17. Given the context of the Olympics, can you think of a better place in Rio where at 6 am you're going to find plenty of drunk tourists with cash?
