Several times I assumed that my sarcastic remarks were clear, but they were misunderstood. I do not feel really comfortable with smilies. I feel it is insulting others' intelligence overexplaining a joke. However I decided to start using them, to avoid any possible misunderstandings. This is just to apologize to all those who do not need the remark.

It's the internet. Someone somehow will find a way to disagree with or take offense, no matter what you post.

You may post an image of a classic landscape masterpiece, and tell everyone to "have a nice day." Someone will respond that art is elitist, another will go off on a rant that the artist was a Nazi sympathizer, and a third will argue that you have no right to suggest a good day, because you can't imagine the tragedy that is his life, and your comment triggered these feelings, and......

Smilies ain't gonna prevent that. Relax.

First, I accept your apology, despite the fact that one is not needed. The same thing happens to me. It is sad.

How dare you make such a generalization. You must be a very sad person who has no friends and whose pets don't like you. Maybe if you stopped going off on rants like this you wouldn't think others do, too. And who are you to tell others to relax? What if he has a psychological condition that prevents him from relaxing? Now he will suffer the additional pain of being bullied into doing something he can't do. Get a life!

That was sarcasm. :p I actually agree with you.
