If I apply the filters in DC for what I really like, it only leaves two guys, which I thought was kinda surprising until I ran it against the 650 listings for NYC and it left... two guys. I know I tend to be particular, but I didn't think I was quite that bad.

 

Maybe it's your fixation with conjoined twins? :p

I filter by position (bottom, vers bottom, vers) and safe sex preferences (safe only) and it leaves me with very few escorts in DC. Sometimes I'll broaden it to include vers/top and ask me to see if there are any visiting escorts which increases it quite a bit.

 

In NYC, however, I use my strictest filter settings and still am combing through about 100 escorts!

A large fraction are visitors, usually for 2-3 days, some far in the future. And there are quite a few (local and visiting) with distinct niches. The visitors are mostly repeaters--all appearances point to something pretty un-dire. One anecdote from one guy is not a trend.

I am more likely to be attracted to a dark skinned guy. Actual race/ethnicity is not make or break, but here in the mid-Atlantic US, that is almost exclusively black guys. Down in Florida, there were a lot of dark skinned Latino guys. I prefer guys who are naturally smooth, but shaved or lightly hairy is ok, hairy or very hairy is a deal breaker. Some facial hair is ok, but a full beard is a deal breaker. I prefer short guys, but I would consider someone slightly taller than myself (5'11")if they had other preferred characteristics AND came recommended, Sean Xavier, for example. I don't care about body type, but as a practical matter, there are not to many chubby working guys. I don't care about tool size.

 

For behavior, I don't care about the masc/fem stuff, as long as they are and identify as as male. I like kissing, oral, rimming and topping. My experience with guys that say they are versatile top has been mixed. I want someone who likes the bottom bunk, not just puts up with it.

 

And yes, there are some guys who don't meet these criteria, so I do sometimes just browse, but one of the things I like about hiring is the time savings, if I can just zero in on a specific look.

 

So now you know.

Reading it again, I realized that I forgot age, I tend to avoid guys under 26, but much like body type, not too many older working guys who meet other criteria...

1 Safe only.

2 Top/vers top, if I don't get enough I'll add versatile.

3 Only sometimes, but I have a slight preference for tall guys, so maybe 5'10 or more.

I generally look at all the ads in a city when window shopping. However, when using the filters, safe only always. Then for position, since I've yet to experience anal, and not ready to bottom, I filter for bottom, bottom/vers, vers at first. Have begun to consider all positions as I've come to realize a good experience with anyone need not include anal.

 

Now, if there was a way to filter out guys giving the finger, too much ink, PNP, that would be helpful.

I think it's probably (U.S.) nationwide and is due to a number of factors: the state of the economy, reduced stigma around sex work, the rise of the gig economy, more guys coming out, growing population. I just checked and there are a lot more trans guys on Rentmen than when I started a little over a year and a half ago. Like, one popular escort/porn star I know started with the tagline "the only Asian FTM escort," but now he's got competition!

It's hard to take BP seriously, my impression is most of the ads in DC are fake. And fake or no, most of them are appealing to a very stereotyped fantasy of a 'street' guy that doesn't really do anything for me. The only ad I've seen there that mildly aroused my male curiosity was a guy who goes by Anthony Banks because he not only says tops are welcome, he shows his ass. But the ad could be fake in that it's not really him...
