avatars? how to do?

Are there instructions hereabouts on how to post an avatar with one's profile and also to accompany posts?

I just set mine up today.... I just clicked on the little blank space where my avatar should be, and was prompted to upload a file. Very easy

You can also place the cursor on top of your nickname on the right top of the screen. Without clicking, a menu unfolds. One of the options there is "Avatar". Click on it and follow the directions.

also, clicking on the username opens up a page with other options and settings to play with

Do not stress about it, it is easy to change. I have adopted my current avatar (interracial kiss in case you are reading this post once I changed it) as my permanent one, but now and then I change it according to my mood. I had an anti-Trump caricature recently, a Black Lives Matter about one year ago, and who knows what come next.

Very easy to change.
